Which is truly better, both defencewise and money wise....

Featured Replies

ok every1 honestly which is truly better do u think rune armor is better or dragon....cuz to be honest i still see high lvls in full rune.....not too many in dragon.....but a lot of low lvls in dragon.....so is rune or dragon better?

Rune is the cheapest, Barrows is the best defence, Dragon is the most expensive with the 2nd lowest defence. Rune > dragon in almost every situation, as if your spending the money on Dragon anyway, just buy barrows. The money you save will pay your repair costs for a long, long time. Anyway, the food you'll save will more then make up for it.

Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29

GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon Boots

Dry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks

Yeah stat wise Dragon armour is generally better, but not always worth its cost.

Dragon chainbodies aren't worth it. However, the skirt (which has equal stats to legs) is better than rune legs and reasonably priced.

Only use dragon if:

A - You have money to not care about money

B - You got it as a drop, and don't need the money.

In any other case go for cheapness > Stats. That's how it works.

And Barrows > Rune > Dragon.

Man, I've been doing it wrong. Better sell my Bandos and go buy some bronze.

Anyway, I'd say if you don't have money to blow, rune plate and legs are fine. If you have a little more, a dragon skirt and granite plate is even better. I wouldn't ever bother with a d chain, since granite is so close to being as good for so much less money. If you really do need that extra defense, go for Torag's plate and just only use it when you really need to.

If defense is not an issue (which is becoming more and more the case with Bunyip, Guthans, bones to peaches, etc...), a pennance fighter torso has a nice little strength bonus attached and doesn't cost millions. Obviously the best choice in most situations is Bandos, with quite good defense and a strength bonus, but that's more of a luxury item.
