Kriegsmier
Its possible to cause a crash. I'd say as long as its the same speed (Example PC6400) then it should be ok. DDR2 and DDR arn't interchangeable and the motherboard will specify which it can take. Some new mobos take both DDR2 and DDR3 i believe. I like to stick with an even amount, like 2 sticks at a time, same size same speed, etc. Just to be safe. Of course someone with more experience might chime in... Sbrideau
Well having same amount of ram on all bars were with DDR, with DDR2, you can have different amounts of ram on the bars, although I personnally have 3 bars of 1 Gb, most people have 2 bars of 1Gb and 2 bars of 512 for the same amount of ram. I only run slower because I'm not on dual channel.
konzserwas
i have 2 sticks 512Mb 533MHz and one stick 1Gb 667MHz. Been using that for 7 months now, no problems. Well almost no problems, the 1 gb stick died once, but waranty covered it i got a new one. I doubt that was because of my setup. I took a 667 because they didn't have a 533 :D when you put 2 sticks with different speeds the faster one slows down ;)

I've got a second flash drive but the damn thing is too slow to be used for extra memory :wall: Internet Marketing For Newbies
