Firefox 3 Download Day

loving it apart from when i type in the address bar it gives me a drop down menu of my 'related' bookmarks - any ideas how to disable that feature?

This post at mozillazine should prove usefull. You can't get rid of it entirely for now or revert it back to the FireFox 2 style bar, but it gets close. The most notable is the browser.urlbar.matchBehavior attribute.

My main gripes are the following:

1. CSS slightly broken, meaning some websites get misaligned DIVs. Unless it's corrected it will mean that us web devs now have 3 main CSS standards to code for, this is going to be a major headache.

2. A LOT of addons don't work, Tab Mix Plus is one :(.

3. I hate the way the address history is displayed, two lines with the name and then the description underneath is totally naff and is awkward to scan quickly to find that website you typed in 3 weeks ago.

4. Google toolbar doesn't work correctly with it, the spell check option has an intermittent problem meaning you cannot stop it once you have started it.

So far that's my initial findings, the rest is fine but I think I am going back to FF2 until all the problems are sorted.

I have noticed that too.

I saw this on a addon I use and it seems it can work with other addons.

This is a brilliant plugin although it needs some more tweaks - Oedro, Pedro, why art thou forsaken us?

Anyway - there's a simple way to make this plugin FF 3.0 compatible - open the .xpi file (it's a normal archive - open it with 7-Zip or whatever) and edit install.rd.

In the line that begins with change the value to 3.0. Re-package the archive as a .zip file and change the extension back to .xpi. Done!

Note: I haven't tried this. I don't want to screw around with stuff.
