(haven't played mems in a while)) lead down a level. correct I THINK you can get downstairs through the fancy garden too, the marble dungeon entrance? ^o) Also, i think the trapdoor in the throne room is another one that lets you build downwards, once you can make a oilubette (oh man don't make me spell that one). In short you have to have one of the above posted rooms to build either up or down.
