I would add more ram at least 1-2GB that is pretty standard now a days. 256MB is extremely low.

You have 256mb of ram. Your on-board graphics are using the 6mb of ram to generate the display.

 

Depending on the operating system I would recommend upgrading to 512mb + (Windows 2000), 1gb+ (Windows XP) or 2gb + (Windows Vista).
