Page expired annoyance

Featured Replies

On going back from a thread to a forum section, it often (but not always) comes up with a "web page has expired" message, requiring a refresh and then an OK.

This never used to happen with PHPBB 2

Using IE7 on XP, using the backspace key shortcut to go back with.

Not having that problem here... FF 1.5-series... 8-) ... Sounds like a problem with IE to me. :(

Pixels make me horny.

I have an explanation for that, I think it may be the same thing.

When you "Forum jump" using the dropdown box in the bottom right corner, it submits it as form data to be dealt with by viewforum.php which then redirects your browser to the correct forum. Firefox anyway stores the form data, so if I hadn't used a link (As opposed to a form) to go to a forum, it asks me if I want to resend the form. I have never had that after posting, though.

Hope that made sense.

By the way DVD, you're still on Firefox 1.5? Just seems a bit strange to me, since 1.5 doesn't support many current web standards.

I think you hit the nail on the head, form submit, but pretty sure I used to use the dropdown the same way in the old forum - the style of submit may have changed in the new version, but it doesn't always happen, I was wondering if it also required a post to bring another thread to the top, resulting in a change in the page you are going back to.

Unfortunately, I think it is something that Internet Explorer does. Fortunately (??) though, you can stop it by downloading a new browser, such as Firefox, Safari, etc.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Got a laggy admin here... I'll be running FF2 or FF3 regularly as soon as I can, just you wait. :)
