Well, on the newer computer I have, Windows XP was corrupt. I didn't have the installation CD (as my cousin gave the computer to me). I instead installed Windows 98SE. It recognized the RAM, Hard Drive, and processor fully. It recognized the monitor as well. However when I go to display properties and click on the "Settings" tab, my only choices are 2 colors (black and white) or 16 colors. I tried moving the slider, but it won't budge. (The slider which indicates the screen size.) I'm thinking it doesn't recognize the video card properly. How can I make this video card fully recognized?

Make sure your video card's drives are updated.

When that happens, it usually means that the video drivers are not installed so that the OS is reverting to the basic windows ones. Try downloading the computer's video drivers.

And I echo konzserwas's sentiment, good luck finding and installing those drivers, 98 is not as forgiving as XP, Win 98 is little more than a front end to DOS 7.

I doubt windows 98 even supports new drivers now.

98 #-o just try and get a legit copy of windows xp because drivers are things that sucks it takes ages to find some good ones even for xp. i've searched for ages for some of the drivers i needed for my pc. now i have them but it took ages. :wall: get xp. 98 sucks
