Ranger Pure for Desert Treasure

Featured Replies

I've seen several Lvl24 (10 HP) characters with ghostly robes & I was thinking of doing the same for my mage pure as ranging won't effect my levels. Can someone list the minimum amount of requirements necessary for this quest (Which quests must be completed, how much ranging needed, etc etc).

All you need is the ranged level required for 'The Temple of Ikov' Quest.. I have a friend with an account like that. ;)

Look up desert treasure under the "Quests" section on Tip.it's main page. And you don't need to beat the quest to wear ghostly robes.

Yes, I understood that part. I was just curious of what the bare minimum requirements had to be. Like, which quests had to be started/completed and which stats had to be met and what not.

For the Temple of Ikov, I believe it's just ~40 range.. But there might be prayer requirements too?

They have a list of stats/quests you need to do. Or you could look it up in your quest journal. But I wouldn't recomend a range pure for fareed, the fire guy, because you can't use any weapons, unless you have ice gloves.

He doesn't need to fight anyone.. Just get the ring of visibility, which is the only requirement to start the 'Ghostly Robes' minigame (besides starting the quest, and having a Ghostspeak amulet). As soon as he has the ring, I think he gotten all he wants..

You'll end up with 11 prayer after Priest in Peril :? . Which I think is a requirement, but not sure if you need the quest for the ghostly robes.

I know there are ways around that though.. Like, rewards from the Waterfall Quest, and some others, you can skip the reward, thus not gaining unwanted XP, but still getting the next quest finished..

And you don't need to finish the quest for the robes, just need to get to Rasolo, and get the ring of visiblity to talk to the wandering ghosts..

Err, I'm pretty sure you've to finish Priest in Peril before you can pass and go to Canifs for the blood diamond. But maybe it's possible to start the quest without having Priest in Peril completed but I seriously doubt it.

Yes. I know I can get the Amulet without finishing the quest but the question is, can I do what is needed in DT without finishing the quest... And other similar quests/requirements.

Oh I wasn't really talking about the Restless Ghost, you don't have to finish that one, but I don't think you can start the quest without doing Priest in Peril. But the skill requirements aren't really needed when you only want to do the ghostly robe part.

The skill requirements are: 50 Mage, 53 thief, 50 fm, and 10 slayer. The quests required are:Digsite, tourist trap, priest in peril, temple of ikov, troll stronghold, and waterfall quest.

You CERTAINLY need 53+ thieving as you won't be able to picklock the chest to get the "thing" to give to rasolo in exchange of the ring of visibility...

Not sure about the other requirements tho..

Well all you need is the Ring of Visibility. So you need all the skill levels for all the quest requirements, and 53 thieving. You also need the items to build the mirriors.

I did it at 80 Ranged, with only 70 Defence, but Ranged doesnt solve everything. Follow the guides and do what they say, or else you'll be in a very bad bind. I had 63-64 Magic going into the quest, so if you can do ALL the bolt spells (Or at least to Earth Bolt), I doubt you'll have a problem. Another solution is to do Family Crest and get the Chaos Gauntlets. It'll be a little slower, but more cost effective.

Honestly, levels are redundant, as I know some Strength pures with 10 Defence who ripped through DT and level 90+s who were dominated and have given up on it. For this quest, just follow the instructions. I wouldnt advise using the Zybez guides as there is so much there that isnt needed and instead using the Runescape.wikia guides as they cut through the BS, have plenty of space between steps and are generally more to the point. I find it VERY hard to find anything on the Zybez guides, let alone concentrate on the quest.

Good luck.

I think some of you are being mislead. Perhaps I should have cleared it up a bit better for you guys.

I'm not trying to complete DT, only getting far enough to retrieve the Ring of Invisibility. I was curious about the quests/skills that were necessary to get this far and which ones I was able to bypass.

dracomagecopy.png

You need to have completed all the quests I mentioned above, and 53+ thief for the ring of VISIBILITY not INvisibility.

Same difference but I don't think you are correct. Don't think they have to be completed Waterfall Quest, let alone probably some of the others.

Has anyone actually DONE the process that can vouch for this?

I've tried this, but if you haven't done the required quests he doesn't talk about the stuff to start the quest. You always need to do the quests required before you can start. I've tried to start the quest for the accumlator, one of the requirements is the restless ghost, a quest. I've done everything else required except that one quest because it gives prayer experience. I talked to the girl to start the quest, but she said that I needed to finish the restless ghost first. When you don't have certain skills you're still allowed to start the quest, you'll just won't be able to finish it. For example you'll need the 53 thieving to pick the chest, when you don't have this you won't be able to and a message will appear when you try to pick it. This message appears during the quest and not when you try to start it.
