F2P - Ice Giants / Ice Warriors Ranging Guide

Featured Replies

Nice guide but I didn't see the Exp/Hr. Is it there or did I just not see it?

I've never calculated it just because of the inconsistencies. It's really hard to track exp/hr just because of all the bbone burying, the high alching, the randoms, etc. :x

Yep, I never really calculated it either. I might of had a general idea at the time, but I long since forgot. It is probably one of the best spots for f2p range training though once you get your range to a decent level. And having decent defense helps to tank when they are agressive, but you are going to be safe spotting as much as possible, so this shouldn't be to much of a problem unless you have no defense to speak of.

I am atm about 20k exp from 89 range all f2p (waits for applause) and i have done it all at lessers. I would like to see even a rough guess on exp per hour because i calculated mine earlier.

I got roughly 24k exp in an hour while I included randoms and noobs taking a lesser they can't kill and it takes them 5 minites.

I'd like to know if it would be a better place for exp or even close because lessers can get crowded at peak times.

I will try my best to find the exp. per hour. I would train at Lessers too, but since I do ASD training at SoS spiders, ranging is the only chance I get for training prayer.

Nice guide, even though I'm not F2P I might use it. Thank you :)

I can almost that much at SoS zombies and I'm 25 levels lower than you... Ice giants/warriors are probably like 20k for me; for you it would be much more, certainly better than lessers.

You should be able to get a good average rate in 1-2 hours at the most. Either way a ballpark estimate is better than nothing.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Very nice guide, well done ::' , great presentation, well written and detailed enough. Have you ever thought about either expanding this guide to include the ice giants in the wildy, or writing another guide for another F2P monster to range?

:) Thanks!

As for the Wildy Ice Giants, I'll have to take a look. I doubt I'll add them in because I never train there so I don't really know if there are some safespots or not. Plus, the dangers of patrolling revs makes it a little risky too.

As for another F2P monster... I could do guides for Hill Giants, Crandor Moss Giants, and Lessers, but I'm sure everyone knows about those safespots by now. (As you can see, I like to range giants.)

What about wine?

They're cheap, and only lower attack but restore HP... perfect range food. Just drop empty jugs.

Wine works too. If you have space leftover from the food you've already eaten, then wine's a good food source.

Hopefully by the time you get it, you'll have lost the aggro.

This is an excellent guide. I'm definitely going to use this when I go back to training my Ranged.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Edited a few things.

Still need information on Ice Warriors, as the safespots that I listed previously are out of date.
