Extender (Useful tools for I.T. Technicians)

Featured Replies

Hello all, I wrote a little tool a few months back which I thought I would share with you all. So what is it all about?

Extender is intended to be used by people such as I.T Technicians who frequently have to install and run applications, service packs, tools etc.

Keeping your most used installers on an external USB hard drive is much easier than carrying a load of CDs around with you. Unfortunately you are then left with searching the folders of that hard drive for the various tools and installers.

Extender is a user interface for launching applications. Simply place the installers in folders within the Extender folder, launch Extender and create a link using the interface.

Here's the Link

And here's a screen shot of the interface:

Have fun,

Clare.

P.S. Yes it's free, I don't charge for my mini apps :)

Very nice. I remember you telling me about this. I will grab a copy to have it i am sure i will use it.

I have now uploaded another little tool called GoSetup, here's what it does:

I hate having to search for licence codes for all the applications I install daily during work, so I thought I would write a little tool that launches the applications setup program, and copies the licence code into the copy buffer. When your app asks for the license key, you can usually paste it straight in.

Installation

1. Copy GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] and GoSetup.ini into the same folder as the applications setup file.

2. Edit GoSetup.ini.

3. Replace LICENCECODE with your applications licence code.

4. Replace Application[Caution: Executable File] with the setup executable, this is usually Setup[Caution: Executable File]. A typical GoSetup.ini may look something like this:

7467-4909-4638-3637-3278

Setup[Caution: Executable File]

You can then point Extender to GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] instead of the applications setup executable. Or if you're not using Extender, run GoSetup[Caution: Executable File] directly.

Here's the link.

Have fun,

Clare.

Just some more info, Extender has now been updated to 1.9 and includes Licence code routines.
