Dbzruler72
Infinite run is banned for the most part in F2P wars; however, users have found a new way of gaining extra run energy: Explorer's ring. This ring, which can be received as a reward by completing the Lumbridge/Draynor Achivement Diary, offers three special features, two of which work on F2P: Cabbage teleport & Run-replenish. When wearing the ring, it gives +1 magic attack bonus & +1 prayer bonus, but that's not what makes it hot. This ring can restore up to 150% of one's energy every day. When used in wars, just like infinite run, this can make wars last many times longer than normal--but it's available to everyone. Is the use of the Explorer's ring fair in wars? Does your clan ban its use? *-P.K.M-* Website
thiesje
I think it's fair in wars, everyone can get the ring since it's F2p. This makes it 'more fair' then pooling I think, that's P2p only. We won't ban it unless all other clans will ban it. Animum debes mutare, non caelum.
Sledge
One war we've been in the other clan made a no explorer ring rule, but that might have been because it was so new and not many of them had it yet. Being f2p, there shouldn't be a reason to exclude it. It'll just be a new standard f2p war item like FoG items. The Observer
It's up to the individual clans themselves if it should be banned or not. The important part to take into consideration is the fact that the ring is also F2P, unlike the A Last Resort quest.
mrmyk
Even if you don't use it for the increased run energy that it provides, it is also the best F2P ring because it has a +1 magic and +1 prayer bonus which will come in very useful when avoiding/casting binds and also so you can keep your prayer up for a bit longer. I don't see why it would be banned at all, it takes an hour to complete the whole diary and as it is for non-members as well, it is available to anyone and we shouldn't ban an item because a few clans have extremely lazy members. I also don't really know why "pooling" for infinite run isn't allowed by most clan rules either. For the fights that my clan is mostly in, infinite run and ancient mace specials are considered standard gear and in a matched options fight, you might be cut quite early on due to not having it. Some of our members are F2P, they still have to fight against those who have infinite run. It just encourages more effective binding and therefore brings a degree of skill into the war which I accept with open arms. sakura12
Rohawks encourages the use of the explorer ring because unlike infi run which lasts a good while the ring has limited use and doesnt give you as much extra energy as infi run. We have pretty much made a requirements for our members to have that ring at wars. Its fair enough since its f2p and doesnt provide a mega huge advantage. thiesje
It seems that it may get banned by some clans anyway, the difference between infinite run and the ring may be difficult to see. Animum debes mutare, non caelum.

Does your clan ban its use? Many clans use infinite run actually, and it is a generally accepted pre-war preparation to assist a clan in their warring effort to come out on top. Most clans insist that their members who are P2P get the 'As a First Resort' quest done, so that they may more easily keep up with their target, and tank considerably better. I believe the use of the ring is fair in wars. If someone puts in the little-to-no effort required to obtain it, they should be able to benefit from its use. My clan does not ban its use. Although it's use is more obvious than that of infinite run(at least to detect, as the restore energy is accompanied by an animation), it's still quite difficult to detect if an individual conceals himself well while using it, which makes it all the more difficult to enforce, and simply causes unnecessary bickering. obfuscator
i think its acceptable since everyone can get it. also, it is no where near infinite run, i have noticed even with the extra 150% I run out of energy very fast. also...if tankers are using it, it distracts them from eating, which gives the other clan a better chance to k/0....
