Just wondering scams from the past. Below are my most painful 2 scams

1. This kid had come to varrock...I was wielding my whip and he kept asking me to help him join a clan. I dont know what...made me do it, but I saw no harm in it. He said he needed to record himself killing a strong person. He kept saying bring just 3 items so I did. I brought my whip and 2 other low items I don't even remember. We went to level 24 wild. a lone secluded sector and he started hitting me. I had about 20 hp left and he stopped. He said hold on while He sets up the camera. I put on my prayer protect item and waited. Then my own stupidity set in. right in front of me I see a noted "Dragon Battleaxe". I pick it up. the second I pick it up, I get raped. It was 4 noted Dragon Battleaxes and they overrid everything else. I ended up in Fally with the Dbattles. so I "gained" 450k and lost 1.8mil. =/

2. A week after this had happened someone with the exact same story had come along. Big clan, wants to join, needs to kill. I wanted to extract revenge and was prepared. I brought the 3 items, was ready with food, teles, and a freezing spell. This time he took me to the wild and we took an obelisk. He gave me a chinchompa and told me to wield it. as soon as I did, he attacked me. I "auto-retaliated" with the chinchompa and was skulled! I got murdered again and ended up losing another 1.8mil

These are possibly my worst...scams. Just wondering what were some big-time scams before?

Trust game. It was so convincing that I saw people being scammed, told them so politely, then watched as they laughed at me - and lost their items. Buying\Selling scams were bad for unprepared traders - the old "warrior for whip" scam was very common. So were the "arena book, 2 guthans chainskirts, 2 verac's skirts etc." scams. I love the trade limit, RS is so much better with the majority of the scammers gone. In W2, scammers usually traded me more then legitimate customers. As for mechenting, I never made much on w2, maxing at 1-1.5m an hour. Now with the GE I can make 2m easily with 5 minutes work. Sorry to turn this into a rant or what-you-may-call-it of sorts, but I really appreciate the updates, including the GE.

I had the first one happen to my before. However, I'd heard about the scam and came totally prepared to get out of there. My hopes were that I would run away w/ his items also. :XD: However once he dropped them, I panicked and just tele'd, 'cause I really didn't wanna lose the whip I worked hard for. :(

Probably the PoH glitch ones.

Only time I fell for a "scam" was the elvemage-y dragon skull trick, but I knew that eating would only get me smited for a whip, and left em around 100k worth only \'

lol. The second scam, since I thought was a repeat of the first, I had telegrab runes, I had planned to move a couple squares away, telegrab and run like the wind.

Or get alch runes.

Just once they appear, quickly brew/shark combo eat, protect from melee and run=p

If you are about to die anyways, just alch one=p

Moving this to questionnaires. :|

There was that one scam that was pretty difficult to notice where someone would put up like, 1771k for a whip, then change it to like 1177k, the numbers look pretty similar in the game and I only noticed when someone tried it on me because I recently read a thread about it on here and was aware of the scam, thank you tip.it \'
