Thegreenfox Posted July 29, 2008 Share Posted July 29, 2008 When Jagex put out the December updates and destroyed the RS economy, the wilderness, and a lot of other stuff we take for granted, a whole lot of people quit. Jagex probably figured that they needed something to give the rest of us that stayed a token of their appreciation. So..... did RS really need a complete makeover? Or was the new face just something to thank us for sticking with RS through the tough times? I think that had something to do with it. That probably wasn't the only reason for the change, but IMO that was a huge factor. I really hope that nobody else wrote anything about the same thing. Sorry if someone did, and I guess thanks for having the same opinion. Doctors repeat themselves because they have nothing better to say...... I think the graphics update was in the works long before the other updates that people seem to hate oh so very much. Because Jagex stated that they had been working on this graphics for 'several years'. That implies a lot more work than could have been done in six months, that's for damn sure. Also, they probably had been planning and developing those updates for quite a while as well. So that would put us at about the end of July '07. Well, then, I suppose it's possible... But I still think that the graphical update was something they had been wanting to do for a long time, but was something they had never been able to do before due to Java limitations. I would hope that the HD update was completely unrelated to the Dec. 10th updates, that it had already been in the works. But I wouldn't be too surprised if it was part of the effort to hold on to the remaining player base. Either way, I'm happy about it. Except for the plastic armor and the new look for the Legend's cape. :| There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
