Well first off i am sorry to tell you but you will be spending more then that and thats not even including the cost of making the alter. Although if you have done the evil dave part of recipe for disaster you can stop at lvl 70 con and make evil stew to make the alter. As for training, what i did is make carved oak table in my workshop and then use the teles in my house to go to canifis and then used home tele to get back. Hope that helps

--Edit, if you make your own planks your gonna save a lot of money

Get 70, then build shelves in your kitchen (the level 2 shelves), make some tea. Drink the tea, it gives +2 construction, and use a crystal saw which gives an invisible +3 construction. You can also do this at level 69 with level 3 shelves (then you can make tea that gives a +3 boost), but those shelves require gold leaves, which are more expensive than 69-70 construction.

As for the actual levelling, get 34 building random things, then build oak larders 34-70. Have the noted planks and a stack of money in your inventory, and use the planks or your butler (the human butler is best, he requires level 40 con though) to unnote them.

Construction is ~9 gp/xp if you buy the planks, about 5 gp/xp if you make them yourself. Be prepared to spend quite a lot of money.

Before I get into training, I'd like to say that last time I checked, you still have 30 construction and 13,426 construction xp! But nevermind that, onto the gilded altar. What you said about needing 75 Construction for it is incorrect. Once you have completed the Evil Dave subquest for the Recipe For Disaster, you can use the Evil Stew for a +6 bonus along with a crystal saw for +3. The quest guides for these two items can be found here:

Zybez Guide to Evil Dave RFD Sub-Quest

Zybez Guide to Eyes of Glouphrie Quest

These 2 bonuses allow you to build a gilded altar at a much earlier level, 66. At level 69 (64 with crystal saw and previous tea bonus) you can build teak shelves 2, which require a gold leaf (130k) but give a +3 bonus. It requires no quest and is easier to obtain than the Evil Stew, so I recommend that for you.

For training it from 30 to 66, I'd build decorative rocks until level 33. Then build and remove oak larders with the Cook as a servant. If you are stopping at 66, get a normal butler and leave it at that. The cost I've calculated with the different methods is listed below:

From level 30 to 33:

Limestone Bricks: 245

Cost (Market Price): Varies, click here for the Grand Exchange link.

Cost (Bought from Keldagrim): 21 gp

Runs to be done: 10

From level 33 to 66:

Oak Planks: 7648

Cost (Market Price): Varies, click here for the Grand Exchange link.

Cost (Sawmill): 250 gp

Runs to be done: 478

Gosh that took a while. Just click on my siggy to check out a detailed thread on how to train construction! Good luck!

P.S. Oh, and unless you don't buy any of your planks and make them all on your own and not build anything in your house, you cant get the needed level with 3M. Infact, you might not even make it to 66 if you want to spend the money on the things for your gilded altar! Be ready to spend cash on Construction, its a mighty expensive skill.

the tea doesnt stack with thw stew, so u still would need at least 66 con to build the altar, and i wouldnt count on the stew, u probably need to make at least 50-100 stews to get the +6 bonus :wall: its more trouble than its worth. and 3m is no where enough to get u to 69 con, the altar alone cost about 1m.
