  1. The Big City article really summed up the past year or so for me in runescape. I assumed it was me just getting older and growing away from the game. Maybe it's just the feeling of nostalgia setting in, but most of my runescape experiences were filled with fond memories of long conversations with random strangers. At least I am not the only one feeling lonely in runescape.
  2. Usually large gold buyers buy bulk gold for a lower fixed price, and then sell at a higher price in small quantities. For example a large gold buyer/seller will purchase lets say 8 bil a day from you for $0.40 a mil and turn around and sell it for $0.50 a mil to random buyers in sizes of 5 mil, 10mil, 50mil, 100mil ect.
  3. Yeah this was after the other one was leaked, everything was patched, and he was banned. Not all their files were banned, or their wealth taken away, as seen by the second video....Grrr. Didn't know all of his weren't banned, which is surprising. But I am sure he was aware what posting his accounts meant. Sure there are idiots who post their accounts/methods and get themselves caught but of all people I don't think he is one.

  5. Unless he has lots of mules that are storing multiple stacks of gold which seems quite common when you are talking about a player with that amount of wealth.
  6. If you think for a bit : Max cash pile is 2.1 Bil, the dupe is about RSGP not rares. Usually stakers hoard rares, if he would've dumped 300B worth of rares on the market, Rares would've crashed not Risen... So no this is no staker. He said host not staker. Host as in gambling.
  7. That's not what I am talking about. I don't care what they spend their money on. I was agreeing it's very expensive. I don't like the idea that people are already buying it for these prices only encouraging jagex with this. That's what I find sad, the expensive prices being reinforced with people already buying. If the guy wants to spend $30 or $50 on an outfit that's fine. But damn I think it could use some adjustment. At no point was I judging the guy.
  8. Sad part is people are buying them. Someone bought the assassin already
  9. Now take that number and cut it in half to account for people just standing around. Now maybe we have an accurate number of people testing beta. If I could give you my beta access I would. Funny looking at my friendslist and all the ones who tested beta on day one compared to now. I used to have about 10 or so friends who got in beta. I haven't seen one test it since Wednesday. I'm sorry, but this is really annoying me. They're denying access to a lot of people who want to test the content, but they're allowing access to people who gamble on a beta server where all your items will just be deleted at the end? What the hell is going on in Jagex's mind? If you look at my previous posts they are dealing with it the next update. And I understand. Trying to find someone to actually do something with in beta without already knowing them is annoying when half of them are begging for partyhats the other half are gambling. And if it means anything. Those people wanted to test combat too. They did, until they got bored, and started to gamble. I will be honest, I want to run around and try to make fake billions too. Trust me, it gets boring REALLY fast when you are gaining nothing. There is a reason people get paid to do this. I hope they will deny access to those that gamble on the beta servers and instead, invite more players in to test their content. I have a feeling they will have some shop with more free items (maybe money and rares). Although that's purely speculation on my part. I think that would be the easier way to deal with the situation rather than running around blacklisting names you see gambling.

  11. Exactly, when one thing this made me realize is how much work runescape is. Novelty doesn't get a player very far. Anything after that is truly work. I work enough, i don't need to do it in my games. At least in real rs i can justify it by non existent items and achievements, fun social interactions and conversations. The beta testing is literally getting me nowhere. I am not getting paid to do it, I get no rs experience, items, achievements, and to top it all off its' not fun after a short period of time.

  13. Yes, it matters. It's the combat system that we're going to be stuck with in a few months, and as mentioned previously, the people duping rares and gambling are taking spots that could have been filled by players that actually care. Really, the fact that there's a beta at all is a surprising step forward on Jagex's part, and the community seems intent on proving that it doesn't deserve to have chances like that. After testing beta for a few days/hours, it loses it's novelty and you get bored with it. It doesn't take long to test the bosses/monsters/equipment. You digested everything and you get pretty bored. I understand how you could be mad people are wasting a slot not testing combat. But in all honestly there isn't that much to do. And when I consider none of this matters, I lose all desire to after getting more than a few kills or any boss or monster. I have spent plenty of time in the duel arena and wildy screwing around, but that novelty doesn't last long. I think if jagex were to allow players to give up their spot, plenty would. Edit: In case people are wonder how many players are currently playing beta. This is a screen shot of current players online at 12 P.M. U.S. central time. 1625 people testing beta . So yeah don't be mad at the people trying to get partyhats, at least those people are online
  14. I suggest you give it another chance. Read each of the abilities, it won't take long to figure out you can use some in combination and most have a way to counter. Start off with basics, they recover quickly and can build up your adrenalin bar. Once you get half a bar use thresholds, they do quite a bit of damage. Continue building up your bar and finish with an ultimate. An example of what to do for range in a duel arena scenario. Start off the duel with a Binding shot. It binds your target for 20 seconds and stuns them for 3. Follow that up with a piercing show, which does 175% damage because they are stunned. Use escape, which will leap you backwards 7 meters and continue to build up your bar. Since the player is bound is still bound, you just put distance between you and your opponent and you are free to shoot them. After about 20 seconds they should be running towards you. Use fragmentation shot, this does more than 200% damage because they are running at you. Continue the fight, if you are low on health use rejuvenate to gain around 3k life points, if you are ok on health finish them off with another ultimate. The situation with people not testing combat is being addressed with the next update. Check one of my previous posts in this thread for the quick find code and quote if you want to read it. The whole with not getting full health is so you can't use your armor to just heal you. And i am sure there are smarter ways of address the health/armor issue. Beta came out a few days ago, we have months to go so don't stress
  15. Basically arcane just became a divine meant for mage users.
  16. Don't be fool by the numbers, you don't always hit 300-400%, or hit at all. Abilities to me feel like an extension of special attacks. Most people relied on them before, the only difference I see now is you have more that you can use more of them more often. Normal attacks do plenty of damage, most of the lower abilities are just a bonus. It's usually the ultimates that are doing the big hits. there is no balance at all. its an absolute mess and quadruplely so in PvE. The only attacks that do any appreciable damage are ones that damage a % of the targets max LP but anything worth a damn has a cap on how much damage it can take, so you just spam unload and frenzy as they hit the cap multiple times. All the ideas put in seem to be working in opposition to each other, like whats the point of better armour giving better lp boosts if the only real damage is coming from these stupid % based attacks, which causes you to take more damage in absolute terms and so making you need more food to heal? The same is true with weapons, since all the damage is coming from the % attacks and abilities are always the same speed, weapon speed and power are irrelevant so the only weapon stat that matters is hit rating. I hope they werent actually planning to release it this year, as if this gets released even remotely resembling this mess then I really do see myself leaving and never coming back. Oh dear... that doesn't sound good at all. Is there a balance between 1h weapons and 2h weapons? Everyone seems to be dual wielding. Are bows like the zaryte bow any good? The chaotic maul? Staves? I would say there is a bit of an exaggeration on how messy everything is. I am not saying this is anywhere near right, but it's not THAT bad. Most of the time, the people who complain are the ones who just spam and don't put any thought into what abilities they use. Here is my thoughts + experience with duel wielding and 2 hand weapons. Duel wielding has the abilities to rip through someone, and cause a lot of damage fast (typically beating out someone using a 2h weapon but not fairing well with someone tanking with a shield). 2h weapons seems to do well against people using shields. I love the zaryte bow. I usually kill anyone I am fighting unless they are divine tanking (melee, mage, or range). I do this by binding them, then i use an ability that hits higher while they are stunned. I hit a few more abilities and then about the time they start running at me, I hit them with the range ability that does more damage while they are running. Finally I finish with a range ultimate, or if I am low on health I rejuvenate. Now if the person actually knows how to use abilities, they just counter my bind with the freedom ability and kill me. That's kind of what i mean about the people complaining. I killed some guy 3 times in a row while using range (he was melee), because i kept binding him. He then sat there complaining about how this is garbage. If he actually spent anytime putting in thought on what to use, he would have used freedom and ripped me to shreds anyway. Edit: I would also like to add something for anyone afraid of all the damage they might take. There are defensive abilities to counter the damage as well. Anticipation reduces all damage taken by 10% for 10 seconds. Revenge causes any attacks you received to increase your damage by 10% stacking up to 100% for 10 seconds. Immortality reduces damage you receive by 25% for 30 seconds, and if you die you return to life. Debilitate reduces damage enemies deal by 50% for 10 seconds. Resonance makes attacks within the next 6 seconds heal you instead of harm you. Reflect sends 50% of damage back at an attacker for 10 seconds. Freedom as I mentioned before frees you of snare, gains immunity to them for 6 seconds and clears damage over time effects. Rejuvenate uses up your bar to fill your health and drained stats over time.
  17. I would say no, but it's better than before. And from looking at the beta forums, they are actively looking at everything we have to say and are addressing it. This is early beta and we have months for things to be adjusted.
  18. Agreed, I actually wanted beta access to like..beta test the new combat update, not gamble cash that won't be there by September :/ some players are true morons.. Well it looks like jagex will address it. [qfc]299-300-958-63833577[/qfc]
  19. Well you can click in the chat box first <_< . Yeah i hope they change that
  20. -mage is pretty strong now best coupled with barrages, fire surge, or storm or armadyl and it kills meleers pretty efficiently, range destroys mages and it acutally decent against melee (when theyre dual wielding instead of using a shield). -mage combat seems to be getting faster and cheaper ( fire surge only uses fire and air runes) but i am not sure how the xp works in this beta or how it will work when it is released so thats not for sure. My biggest thing about beta is, godswords are almost useless along with claws. and dungeoneering seems to take a solid amount longer and youll need to smith armour to survive now. also so far in beta what is the best dual wield? cls's, rapiers, or some mixture of them? I wouldn't say godswords are useless, I won quite a few fights with them against people. Although duel wielding and properly using abilities seems to beat out a 2h weapon. It would be nice to give each godsword a little something else. Maybe someone similar to barrows set effects where they randomly kick in.
  21. You can drop them or give them to someone, re import your save that has rares again, so you essentially copied them.
  22. THANK YOU!!! You're welcome. If anyone needs more info i am glad to give it. The game seems to be playable now. Not much lag at all if you are not in lumby with everyone getting armor/weapons. Edit: There are also armor/weapon traders in places like ardy. So don't waste your time in lumby.
  23. Here are all the abilities. Sorry about the bad quality. I had my screenshots originally set to Jpeg and I didn't want to redo them all. Edit: Added spoiler tags. Lol thanks Vezon Dash, i didn't think of using them. Warning, many large pictures
  24. After all this time i don't think it's going to work anytime soon until they do something on their end. Even if you try and create a new character i suggest not wasting your time. I can't even run through a cave let alone try to kill something. Maybe wait a while until everything cools down and the lag isn't so terrible.
  25. Has anyone else been able to import their save yet?
