  1. If you are talking about clan camp there will probably be lower levels wasting time for months or years to come. If livid farm is going to be along the lines of herblore habbitat there will be a following as long as the lifespan of the game, or until something better comes out. So just because it doesn't seem promising to you i don't think you should make a conclusion like that until we see how useful/useless it is.
  2. Overall i like most of the looks anyway, but i am happy with the results.
  3. This change doesn't work in the wilderness. So now if you get lured, you can keep that really expensive rare item over some armor or a weapon Also livid farm seems awesome. I am glad they are adding something along the lines of herblore habbitat. Lets hope the experienced gained is worth the time though.
  4. I am glad to see this, specifically the part about trolling. Not that it really does anyone "harm", but it makes reading the forum a lot less pleasant.
  5. Oh, how cool combat could actually be - a random kid makes JaGeX look like a bunch of pathetic programmers (which they are) I know this is just an editted vid of sorts, but with just a LITTLE bit of effort, then maybe, just maybe! RuneScape combat wouldn't be so lame. And by a little bit of effort I mean making updates that don't suck. If they spent all programming resources on completely overhauling combat like this then I'm pretty sure RuneScape wouldn't suck. Actually that wouldn't require any programming. It would only take an animator a very short amount of time doing something like that. Anyone with decent experience with maya/3d max could do that within a day. I don't have a problem with the combat system and would rather have jagex spend their time on new content. If i wanted fancy combat i wouldn't play an mmo.
  6. Who or what is AMJ and what the hell is this post about? AMJ = axe man jack. That's the person who posted this topic.
  7. Well usually if you don't care you don't click on the thread, read the thread, or bother posting. You could say you don't care about any thread but then why waste your time posting at all? This does worry me though, hopefully it's a reminder to everyone to really secure their accounts.
  8. Well i missed the bandwagon by a week but... Also my new herblore outfit
  9. Did you get that from the high level forums? Max Cape has been polled on HLF for over 2 years now, and it was "generally the idea" that it'd be the best cape in game. Ok thank you. I hope it is at least better than the soul wars cape. Even though i won't have access to the maxed cape, i get tired of looking at all these plain blue or red capes lol.
  10. Hopefully this can shut up the people that sit there and say, "i played rs 14 years ago and i have 80 billion partyhat sets up i got hacked/gave them away/pked with them and now that i am back i am going to beg you for money and tell you how i deserve your partyhat." Well maybe it won't stop their begging, but at least we can know if they played classic and or been on rs for a while  Did you get that from the high level forums?
  11. Personally i love gold, and try to own every single item in game that has any slight variation of gold or yellow. But this thing is just ugly in my opinion. It's a disgrace to everything gold
  12. Yes you are reading (b) wrong, they have the intention to change it, but because they don't know if they can do it (or when) they just say that they won't promise us anything. Where are you getting they have any intention on changing it. To me, it looked as though they defended their updated, but said there were also good ideas on the forums and there is a ton more that they could do, and hope to do. Although they have no plans, and they are making no promises. "Personally, I hope we do bring in incentives to train smithing at the higher levels. I think theres plenty we can do with the skill, there are lots of good ideas in the forums and within the team. However, Id like to point out that we are NOT PROMISING this update."
  13. Searches do not equal people playing the game, or profit for jagex. For example, one of your graphs shows a general deline in searches in in 08, but here ren provided us with a nice graph that can be seen here http://forum.tip.it/topic/256788-jagex-financial-report-2008-09/page__p__4080478__hl__decline__fromsearch__1#entry4080478 There we see that jagex acctually continued to grow and gain more profits than ever despite searches decling. Also doesn't alexa require you to have their toolbar installed in order to rank websites? If so that's basically negates very valuable and accurate stitistics there. And for whoever mentioned seeing this thread here are a few lol http://forum.tip.it/topic/275965-the-runescape-population/page__hl__dieing http://forum.tip.it/topic/286262-is-rs-dying/page__hl__decline This one is slightly off topic but, it's a thread on where rs would be in five years. The poster predicited summoning, construction, and partyhats in the billions lol. I thought that was pretty funny. http://forum.tip.it/topic/42716-where-will-rs-be-in-another-5-years/page__hl__decline Please don't bump any of these by the way, they are all old.
  14. Maybe i missed something but where did you even get any hint or idea that this has anything to do with enchanting weapons. The behind the scenes mentioned nothing, nor do the screen shots even suggest that.
  15. I have seen a few people selling green for around 1.2bil . Yellow are a little over 1bil(keep in mind those are asking prices, give room for variation), so you should easily be able to upgrade.
  16. Wait a minute... Does this mean the other 2 armors are the same drop rate as before and not 3 times as likely? Apparently not: RSOF quickfind code 15-16-446-62433378 Thanks for clearing that up . Seriously though, that could have been worded a little better.
  17. Wait a minute... Does this mean the other 2 armors are the same drop rate as before and not 3 times as likely?
  18. what does this have to do with free trade? Some people say they have only seen this lag ever since free trade. So there thinking would be free trade = more players = too many for their servers to handle = lag. Personally i haven't experienced any lag at all.
  19. Stop making up statistics. Use google before you spread absolute lies. While I have no problem with using valid stats to back up claims the links you've provided are either years old, based on a small data set from 1 MMORPG or the data can not be found. It's no help accusing other posters of spreading lies when all you're doing is sitting there googling things until you come up with things that look like it will back up your theory. Get some up to date facts based on a number of valid sources that takes data from a larger pool and then you'll be in a position to counter the point. 2 of them are older, but the metric system one is from 09. In 2 years it's unlikely it would drastically change. That one also uses 3 different sources for it's information (although one an older one anyway). What he posted was drastically off as he based it all off personal opinion, i on the other hand had multiple credable sourcese that have evidence to suggest otherwise(including the bbc and the daedalus project). Not that i am stating it's all 100% accurate, what he posted is considered false across the industry. Also i didn't' just come up with this "theory", it's what is currently accepted in the industry, based off of some statistics such as these. So i really don't see how you have a problem with any of this. Here are some more generalized, but up to date and reliable statistics. Are the ESRB's and ESA's 2010 statistics good enough for you  ? http://www.theesa.com/facts/gameplayer.asp http://www.esrb.org/about/video-game-industry-statistics.jsp tl;dr He based his it off of nothing, i had statistics to say otherwise(and i don't know why you can't accept them)
  20. Stop making up statistics. Use google before you spread absolute lies. "It is easy to dismiss video games as pointless activities that only teenagers indulge in. The truth is that the average age of MMORPG players is around 26. In fact, only 25% of MMORPG players are teenagers. About 50% of MMORPG players work full-time. About 36% of players are married, and 22% have children. So the MMORPG demographic is fairly diverse, including high-school students, college students, early professionals, middle-aged home-makers, as well as retirees. In other words, MMORPGs do not only appeal to a youth subculture." Stereotype 1: “Almost all MMO players are male.” (Gender) "Actually, this stereotype is somewhat accurate. Most players are male. However, the percentage of male players is not as overwhelming as many people believe. Although the percentage of male players may have been greater in the past, currently only 60% of MMO players are male (BBC) and this percentage continues to shrink as more and more females are starting to play MMOs." Stereotype 5: “Most people who play MMOs are unemployed.” (Occupational Status) "This is another incorrect stereotype. Everyone seems to be aware that MMOs cost a lot of money to play, yet it never occurred to them that most people would need a job to fund this play. Over 50% of MMO players work full-time. Another 12% are working part-time and/or attending school part-time. 22% are full time students, 3% are home-makers, 1% are retired, and only 10% are unemployed. There is not a significant gender difference among the unemployed, proving that it is untrue that mainly males are unemployed." http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/gateway_demographics.html http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/archives/000550.php http://themetricsystem.rjmetrics.com/2009/06/24/who-plays-mmos-an-analysis-of-mmorpg-player-demographics-and-mmorpg-player-stereotypes http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=6582 Also the online demographic for console games is 25 - 44 http://news.mmosite.com/content/2010-04-21/interesting_statistics_of_online_game_market.shtml
  21. That was at least the average player's thinking. In classic or early rs2 most people never thought they would ever achieve any 99 at all. All that changed with skill capes though.
  22. Pretty much what everyone said, so the game is not easy and to keep you playing. It's a growing trend and becoming more popular to have some huge goals in games these days. I think most developers are realizing if you set some of ridiculously high goal, someone will achieve it pretty much no matter what. Runescape is a little unique in the fact that this single game is constantly being updated over the years instead of just coming out with new versions (call of duty). But in end up i think it's proven it's worth. Look how long Runescape has been running and how big the user base has grown.
  23. Worst part is most of those people looks like they are losing everything they have or damn near close.
  24. So do the people getting killed not realize they lose their items or what? I mean there is that big sign that says items drop on death.
