  1. I've discovered that about a lot of things in life. Why I don't lkike clans. I don't like feeling obligated to other people for things. Or obligated in a VIDEO GAME. Sure there is grind in runescape, but at least most of the time you are not forced to do it. I think most of us have enough things to worry about in life. I don't like being forced (well it's required in the clan camp/some clans will kick you out if you don't do this) to grind. Also it's not that i expect this content to be for everyone, or that we are entitled to everything. But i think this is just bad game design.
  2. The upkeep thing is annoying. Cutting the roots feels like more work than the rest of the things on rs. Because my clan is small my citadel will probably have no upkeep and just die <_< . At least the herald capes are cool.
  3. Partyhats are affected. Although i am trying to sift through what is price manipulation and what is actually going on. Earlier i could barley sell a yellow for 1.35bil. But now there are "offers" for 1.4 to 1.5bil. Not too sure if these offers are real though.
  4. wat Clan citadels are getting released this week. ...or has the heat messed up my perception of time again? :P Jagex said citadels won't cost anything
  5. The new pictures look nice but i hope there are things to DO. I don't want another player owned house where i decorate it, make an ok dungeon, and then abandon it soon after. I am sure some clans and player will make great use of it, i just hope it lives up to their hype.
  6. They are weekends where you gain more xp than you normally would for most activities. starts off at 2.7 times your normal xp and slowly lowers over time. Once you have played for 10 hours it drops to 1.1 times normal xp Edit: skill became easier to train because there are many new ways to train. For example we now have ivy, a way to train woodcutting to make it very afkable, and pretty fast xp.
  7. Things got easier, bonus xp weekends, the longer the game goes on the higher people's skills are
  8. No you are not alone. I usually don't pay attention in game during quests or anything, i just read over rs lore threads that sum everything up lol.
  9. There are still plenty of people who bot on their main accounts for skilling or money purposes.
  10. Look at the last post of the update teaser sticky http://forum.tip.it/topic/273054-update-teasers/page__st__20
  11. I see. Thanks for enlightening me. Np, as for you, if you have an interest in this you should try working on mods or with some of the programs i mentioned. You may not have the skills now, but with time and patience you may be the one submitting the art to jagex or pursuing a career in a similar field.
  12. Internship was what i meant. Even then companies usually have very few positions, and are very hard to come by. You would have already needed to prove to them you have a deep knowledge in whatever you are going for. A very nice portfolio or demo reel, and working towards a degree are usually bare minimum requirements. At that point you would already know if you wanted to do that as a job.
  13. I am sure plenty of people who have worked in the industry who apply at jagex all the time. For someone who is still learning, an internship would be a much better opportunity. Also it's not as easy as just going up and asking them. People often have to fight for the few positions available. Working for jagex to see if that kind of work is for you is a bit too late in a person's career anyway. If someone really wants to see if animation/video editing/game programming is for them it would be much better to just learn it on your own. All the resources are available free and legally on the internet. Work with a game engine like game maker, cry engine 3, or unreal engine 3. Try a program like blender. If you are a student get a free license of maya or 3ds max. Then after testing out the things for yourself, or better yet go to a university offering some classes, you will see if it's for you. This is coming from a senior computer graphics major.
  14. If i have learned anything over the years about prices is there will always be another crash/buyout/price drop/price rise. You just have to be patient enough for people to panic over something or jagex to make an update that effects them. In terms of "soon", i really have no idea and the actually timing of these events are usually hard to predict.
  15. And summoning. We were able to get other birds eggs before summoning, also they had teaser pictures that you could piece together to show the summoning skill symbol.
  16. A 1/10k droprate isn't "hard content", it's bad game design. Yeah seriously i spent 6 months killing black dragons and never got a visage. Making it a higher level isn't a bad idea, but making odds that low is just unnecessary.
  17. Even if the changes were not significant, the hype of any drop rate changes would have very negative effects on the items effected. And no prices would not rise when the promo wore off. More items would have been pumped into the game, overall those price drops would likely have a long effect.
  18. Try to do a variety of things with your free time. It tends to make you appreciate each one more rather than just playing rs, or doing on thing everyday. Try forcing yourself to do certain things, like doing simple exercises every now and then. I understand if you have a lot of free time and just spend it on rs, but don't let rs miss opportunities. If someone asks you to do something, don't make an excuse and just play rs. Take that those opportunities and you shouldn't have a problem. If all else fails and you can't seem to manage it, just stop playing rs. You don't want to find yourself regretting all the time you spent on here.
  19. Here are all of the devish outfits. Some mix and matching of the turban make it look better. Also to the above poster the sale allows you to buy two things. A arura that would be 5k or so and an outfit or emote
  20. For anyone interested in the clothing, if you buy an outfit you can also get all the other colors for free at the same time. Also if you destory them you can get them back for free at the shop.
  21. What this game was built around...skills What about the people who have all 99s? And not everyone plays the game the same way. Some people hate skilling. There is no reason to destroy one's reason for playing just because you don't like the high price tag.
  22. Again the issue of rares being a problem in the first place. Just let it be, if you want one earn enough money to buy it there is no need for interference.
  23. Because animation and modeling doesn't involve programming. Also jagex's art team can probably do that with ease, low poly animation and modeling isn't hard nor does it take much time. Plus they are pretty sufficient at shading and texturing so i don't see him doing anything that jagex can't. I do understand what you mean though. The problem isn't that jagex lacks the ability to do something like that, more like they lack the will. They don't seem to be a big fan of over the top. Despite everything said, he did, and always does a nice job on his emotes and capes.
  24. I don't know why you chose the word social when you are talking about sexual, anyway no i see no difference other than display names (because jagex allows us to change them so often). In fact i found things to be better in terms of the sexual harassment and random "trash" filling the chat box. These days with the various methods of chatting through clan or friends chat i think the average scaper is somewhat filtered by what people say. There were plenty of vile and disgusting things said at any point in runescape, or any point of the internet. Take coming of age teenagers, combine that with the protection of anonymity of the internet and you will get situations like this. Besides that i don't even see it as that bad of a problem. I have heard worse things being yelled at me in a traffic jam or spoken on the subway by adults on a daily basis.
