Most of the people i have seen who do it are trustworthy, but i have only seen players lose tens of millions to it. Whoever is planting the flowers seems to make a decent bit of money doing it legitimately.

Not really sure what will happen, but if you plan on buying a yellow try ge. I just bought mine back for 850mil. Not sure if i got lucky or if there is more room for them to drop.

My son (the one who no longer plays Runescape) asked me the other day, what's stopping anyone from manipulating prices now by putting, say, a yellow phat up for sale on the GE at 2 bill and having a friend buy it for 2 bill, and wash, rinse and repeat? :unsure: That wouldn't affect what people are paying for in world 2 or the forums. And partyhats are still underpriced on ge and can't move that quickly, so that wouldn't do anything. However the GE guide price is tied together with player to player trades since the limit was removed. If they traded it back and forth for more then the guide price in normal trades, You'd almost think it would effect the guide price. My point was that the guide price moves too slow to effect anything at the moment

That's because there was a crash yesterday and a lot of people were panicking trying to get as much out of their hats as they could. Mostly because just last week purple was not much higher than 600mil at which it was pretty stable. Then a few days later we saw a huge spike in overall partyhat prices with each one going up 100mil+ each day. Once they all hit 1bil+ there were a lot of sellers and people paniced to try and get their cash. As of right now it seems everyone is trying to push hats as high as they can go. A lot of manipulation going on with both ends of the spectrum with people saying, "hats will crash way lower they are way overpriced", as well as, "there is huge demand and partyhats will always rise, they are under-priced". Hats are a lot more chaotic than i thought they would be after free trade, but it is still early after free trade. Who knows what could happen.

It's pretty hard to say since we don't have much to go off of (free trade came out last week). My guess was that partyhats went up due to the weekend. If this week will be like last week, the trades will start to die down wednesday/thursday along with their prices. Of course nothing is 100% but that's just my guess.

Edit: i have a feeling it was just because it was the weekend after free trade. purple around 720mi to 730mill yellow around 830mil to 850mil green around 890mil red around 1bil to 1.1bil white around around 1.5bil blue last i saw was 1.8bil but that was a few days so it probably rose and someone is offering a white + 800mil so...

I dont' know what will happen to them but i did notice a lot of manipulation on them. In world 2 and the forums people were buying for 115mil yet I couldn't sell mine on ge, forums, or world 2 for 110mil. All the people wouldn't trade me, would appear offline or act like they didn't see my post. So you might want to be careful with the offer floating around.

It's probably just because jagex changed the ge mechanics back to how they were.

I still see player to player trading, the forums, and world 2 staying strong for most expensive purchases because what you are willing to pay is often determined by what others are willing to pay/what others are selling for. You really have no idea what the offers are in the ge until they are completed. The only other way to find out an item's price is to look at the forums or go to world 2.

What would someone ever do with 30k gold charms? Read his blog. I hear white is up to 1.5b, red over 1b and divine at 900m+. Do you see them crashing any time soon? White is being sold now with a/w 1.4m, leading off is 1.315. There's an offer selling red for 1.05b with not even a response and 4 bumps from the OP. Just looking through the forums, it seems that there are FAR more sellers right now than buyers. Fenghahe is selling yellows with an A/W of 830m (none sold), greens at 750 (seem to be selling better) divine is right around 900m still. You got the price of yellow and green backwards. After buying and selling the past few days the market seems to be getting stagnant, or at least becoming stable. Sellers are going as low as 700mil for yellow, buyers usually won't come much higher than 680mil. And it's the same people buying/selling, just merchants not many people looking to keep their hats.

Uh. No it wouldn't. All it would do is open up competition between Jagex and RWT websites. Jagex would probably end up with having the RWTers offer the best deal (lower prices, etc) since Jagex is actually trying to profit off of this whereas many RWTers just sell gold on the side. As for selling gold, Jagex could also open up a lot of competition, but unless Jagex is willing to almost give mils away for free, the RWT community would probably offer lower prices. In the end, the ONLY way for Jagex to stop RWTing is to totally bork the game. If Jagex were to sell gold for $1/mil, I doubt any RWT companies would be able to beat that price. They wouldn't be able to turn a profit like that, when you take into account the costs of memberships, internet, and the sweatshop workers who while they are paid pennies on the dollar still do have to be paid. I am looking at several big time sellers selling their gold for .80 to $1 each. Also not all people selling gold pay workers various bot farms, or even people selling their gold from merchanting/monster hunting can sell.

Red 990mil to 1.1bil white 1.3bil to 1.5bil both are kind of volatile

They are very volatile at the moment. At this second yellows are selling for 670mil. Greens around 700+mil. Today i have seen yellow go from 600mil up to 830mil. Green from 700mil to almost a bil. I suggest if they peak again you get rid of green and let things stabilize. Edit: also you have the upper hand. I haven't seen many greens being sold so you can probably get a good deal.

I see plate going from 95mil to 105mil legs around 100mil to 110mil Also anyone trying to make money be careful the ge seems to be having problems. Sometimes it takes be several minutes for the item to be submitted, and at other times i couldn't even take the item out.

I am not sure if the prices are just settling or if most of us really undervalued our rares/underestimated how much cash people had these days. Or is this just the excitement of free trade so prices are ballooning a bit and will they return back down?Looks like there is still lots of potential to make or lose millions. Personally i will continue to watch to see what happens, i am not prepared to make any moves yet.

Well they don't seem keen selling it pure cash now. This will probably change once free trade is implemented. I saw a few white sellers asking for 1bil as of right now. So you may get lucky after free trade.

The biggest problem i have seen with jagex is they tend to be inconsistent(and this applies to many topics although particularly in the rules or morals).
