amoeba_009
Try smithing some cannonballs, the inventory takes so long that it logs you off.
Roberthree
Blargh blargh blargh I didn't read the thread. I direct you to this post and image. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n71/Roberthree/rsmultitasking2.jpg I'm not tabbing. I've got my eye on the RS screen the whole time and it still logs me out. Sir_Sibz
I suggest just waving your mouse throughout the screen every 30 seconds at least. And maybe if you wish to avoid browsing on the web while skilling, yet you want to be keeping yourself busy: I suggest drawing. Lol, well that's what I do when I fish, and IT WORKS (for me). You can get your rl drawing skill up to... ah nvm I'll stop there.

If thats too much for you, your not allowed to play runescape. I said so. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
Bad911
Lol, i've grown so used to this habit/trick. Just, alt tab, click your Quest tab next to your Inventory, then click on your Inventory again, re-alt tab. Well, thats for smelting cannonballs, fishing, cooking, fletching, and even combat sometimes. I like the pause idea, but you shouldn't be able to do anything in that "pause" time. It should be like the assist system, just hit pause and this screen pops up and what-not. Only problem is the security problem  Maybe, have a screen pop up when you hit pause, it'll have like a kind of 1 number bank pin in a random sequence. When you get back, you just hit that number, no more password re-entering and skipping advertising.

Because it's either I'm right, or my account has special powers where I only log out when I tell it to through telepathy. Yes, I can communicate with the game w/ my specialness. [/sarcasm] This method only requires that you wave your mouse over the game applet, then return to whatever else ur doing.
harper128
Umm, well, as I have been actively watching the window, I have yet to see a warning letting me know when I should wave the mouse across the screen. Honestly, I'm not sitting here with a little timer to let me know that I should wave my mouse in front of the window. And, at times, while I AM watching the screen and paying attention, I may not have my hands free. A bit of warning that would let me know I'm going to be logged so I know I need to move my mouse might be nice. Maybe a little 10 second countdown timer or some such. A countdown of sorts would be nice to have! Normally I know when to give my mouse a good wave. Hopefully you have your own timer in ur head? The "technique" that I suggested dosen't require that you wait for the last 10 seconds for you to wave ur mouse. Do it like every 15 or 20 seconds. If you can't get it down, then don't worry about using it. ;) Also, having a pause button would probably be bothersome... at least I think so. It could potentially make Full worlds impossible to get into - People could pause for 2 minutes so that they don't log out, then they can return to whatever it is they want. Pest control worlds (especially world 144) would be even more of a pain into... potentially. I'm not saying everyone would abuse it, but some will. The cooldown suggestion would probably be the only +. :|
sibmaster
I dont see the point of having this feature!! Why did they put it in!!?? Do you see WoW or GW with this? No! One day i left guild wars running all day, but i went away for like hour periods to get away from the comp for a while and came back, and i would just be standing there, perfectly fine, not dead, nothing stolen, nothing disappeared, and more importaantly STILL LOGGED ON! I know you only have to type in your user and pass, but when you just want to go to the toilet or get a drink, it just gets annoying if you were in the middle of sommit! Smashing Pumpkins Fan?
