raiten1
i was wondering about dking... the monster hunting guide seemed a little lacking... i hear thing like you need a minimum range def of like 350 to last and things like that. my group iss not rich people... 2 meleers and 1 ranger, idk if we need a mage or not... but this fight seems very complicated to start.i was wondering if there was a more in dept guide or different strats (not tribriding)

hatebringer
I'll be very brief and not quote an entire guide, but heres what you do. The mage of the group goes into the cave first and lures rex (melee king) to the opposite side of the ladder and safe mages him for the entire trip. The next people (hybrids range+melee) go in and take out the mage and range kings (supreme and prime) Everyone has mage pray on until mage king is dead since everyone will have high range def. Mage simply keeps the melee king away from everyone else while the others kill prime and supreme. Then you just repeat until supplies are out. craven_range
A more in-depth guide of DKs http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=dagannoth_kings.htm That guide won't really help at all.
Bad911
I've never gone DK'ing, so take that into consideration when you read this. No matter how many guides i've read, how many videos i've watched, i still forget half of it when its over. I don't think anything will prepare you for the actual thing, because whos going to tell you where the safe spots are when all you see is a dot on a round map. What i think you should do first, is scope out the place. Go in there with Magic to kill Rex ONLY, don't try hybrid-ing on your first trip with friends, because thats bound to fail if you guys can't get the timings right. I heard that if you mess up, Rex could pop up when your protecting from range/mage? and totally k0 you. Just try to Mage Rex first in the safespot, then get a feel of what you should do by watching other groups do it.

"Info" is in guides, these people are trying to help you, no need to act like an [wagon].
raiten1
sigh im not actively trying to be an [wagon] or put down the writers off the guide, even if I'm coming off stuck up... i just want to know the facts. prime has high range def would be a useful fact... you need a mage isn't. we all have different skills and armor. i want to create a strat for my self based off the resources i have.the best people aways create there own way. look at skully and his tri-briding guide and all the loot he has to show for it. Well, you need a mage or two, who will safespot the melee'ing King and kill him. Then, the hybrids will kill the other two. I believe first they range the mage King from a distance, then melee the ranger King. If nobody in your group has ever gone, your trip will probably end very quickly; it's best to learn from people and "blindly follow" guides. And the best people don't rush in blindly with other inexperienced people with no knowledge, they learn from the people who came before them, and perfect their methods over time. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
raiten1
i don't intend to rush in there... im going to scope it out and everything... if i lose stuff thats my fault... why do i NEED a mage... ranger can safe stop mobs to...

You need a mage because Rex has low magic defence and high range defence. Unless you only want to kill Prime and Supreme, which can be hard to do without Rex attacking you. narnarkille2
you still need a mage though to distract rex. otherwise, your team will be screwed
raiten1
ok ty bakura... for some useful info. i dont need a mage, i can have the ranger keep rex in place and just kill prime. thats not hard so hard.
