August 15, 200817 yr As much as I don't want to take up 15 minutes writing what is wrong with Ubuntu and HD, I will as I craft Air Runes :P KK, Long story short, on HD every time I click, it goes to a picture of the "Loading 3D library" Loading screen, then when I click the mouse it goes back to normal HD RS. It's getting hella annoying wanting to play RS on HD but know I can't. This is regardless of safe mode or browser or anything. If my vague description isn't enough, let me know. I sent a LONG message to Jagex explaining every detail, but they take 2 months to get back to you!!!! If trees could scream, would we cut them down? Maybe, if they did it all the time for no reason.
August 15, 200817 yr 32 or 64-bit? I know RSHD has problems with 64-bit Ubuntu.
August 15, 200817 yr Author Thanks! But nothing helped.... And I have a 32 I think, when I run Windows (we have both installed) it has "System32" not "System64" So it's 32. If trees could scream, would we cut them down? Maybe, if they did it all the time for no reason.
August 15, 200817 yr That means that Windows is 32 bit. It has absolutely nothing to do with Linux. I have both 64 bit Ubuntu and 32 bit Windows on my computer. I can't find the command right now that tells which you are running, but there is one way that's more understandable- Try to install the flash player extension for Firefox. (It's only 32 bit).
August 15, 200817 yr Author KK, I asked my computer nerd of a dad which it was, he said 32. If trees could scream, would we cut them down? Maybe, if they did it all the time for no reason.
August 17, 200817 yr It seems like I can help you, but I'll need a little bit more information. What version of Java are you using? What are you system specs? Ubuntu by default will install OpenJDK with the gcjwebplugin, but this won't work with RS at all. To find out, type java -version. If OpenJDK comes up, then do the following: 1) sudo update-alternatives --config java 2) Select the number that Sun Java appears under 3) Restart Firefox (if it was open) If there are no alternatives, do the following: 1) sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-fonts sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-jdk 2) sudo update-alternatives --config java 3) Select the number that Sun Java appears under For your system specs, you can do the following: Either sudo apt-get install sysinfo (then run sysinfo), noting the specs from each tab, or if you know the make/model/specs, just rattle them off to me. Lastly, are you sure you're running Ubuntu? system32/64 have to do with Vista, not Linux. ;) Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.
