....sorry but when it comes to a game like WOW I don't see how anyone can be that out of the loop. You have to purchase a game disk for World of Warcraft and for Guild Wars. WOW requires a monthly payment also. GW is free to play after you have purchases and they plan on just making more expansions.

Hey, not in any way. See by not charging you monthly they need to make money somehow because the game will keep getting/having updates, patches, server costs and such. Every couple of months they will just release an expansion to the game which will cost less then the original game did and will have a lot of new stuff. You install it and it just adds onto your gaming experience. It's like updating to members in a way, but it's just one fee. You pay some money and you get this whole new area and new stuff. Then in another couple months you get to do it all over again. So if you generally get a game every couple months anyways or you can even wait longer then it's a great deal. You get to play for free and then pretty much start a new game but keep your character and such.

(anyone correct me if they see something wrong, but I believe I'm right.)

With games like everquest, you pay monthly and then you also have to buy the expansions so it gets very costly. I'm not sure what WOW is doing.

I believe it's about 2 or 3 times a year on the expans, Ryan, not every 2 months..

and I think they're called "Chapters", not expans :)

Thanks for correcting me :P . My computer can't actually run the game so I'm just going by what I've heard.

You have to buy the game ... First month is free then after that $15 per month and you also get a 15 day guest pass for a friend.

That's for WoW by the way.

If monthly payments (I tihnk WoW is $12 or somehting a month? I forget..) then I'd go with WoW..GW is completely PvP based from what I've heard, while WoW has nice PvP and other stuff, so. :P

the guest pass for WoW is actually 10 days, and i used it on myself (so selfish i know) to get 40 free days  maybe i should have given it to one of my reluctant friends who would then drool over it

WoW needs 4 cd's to install, a cd-key, a creditcard and a 160MB patch. ;)

It doesn't need a credit card, at least not in the UK. Both me and my brother have accounts on it using our switch and solo cards respectively.

GW- buy game from store, or you can purchase the Key of their website and download the game (i don't believe its to big of a size). The game has a lot of PvP based stuff, but it has a bunch of quests and PvE things too, has a lot of team effort PvE. They will release Expansions (Chapters) 1-2 a year (thats what i hear, no one is actually sure i guess), that will feature more PvE and more PvP stuff, maps, monsters. These chapters you don't have to buy, and they don't make you less powerful in game.

Wow- (dont play so i may be wrong) you purchase game, and pay a monthly as stated before me. They have a more PvE orianted, but has good PVP as well. Wow is like runescape, but alot alot better.

WoW is uberly good. i wanna buy it, but i dont have any cash atm :( .

great game, but i think the like ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã10/month is a bit steep, esp as you have to buy an instal disc too for like ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30; but its kinda worth it seein as the game is like amazin. :)
