After receiving helpful advice from Dragon Scimmy vs. Longsword, I thought I would ask about a barrows weapon, too. I have switched over from longsword to scimmy, and I am very happy with the results. But, would a greataxe be a good thing to pick up? Would it be an improvement, or should I just stick with the scimmy? Thanks.

stick with scim, greataxe if reeeeeaaaaaaaally slow and only noobs use it for the high hits (like 1 hit higher than whip)

Greataxe isn't good without the full set, and even with the set, it's only useful for certain things. Just go with scimmy / def / obby / dfs / rune / prayerbook / whatever. Much better to be honest.

If you are looking for training, greataxe will give you more xp than a whip if you are not doing slayer.

Meh, there are alot of tasks where slayer mask outdoes the special ability of dharok's.

Barrows weapons are only good with the whole set*

 

 

 

*Karil is an exception
