Matthew Mills is one of the fastest guitar players in the planet (faster than Randy Rhodes was), but unfortunately he doesn't really get much credit. He's also my guitar teacher :D :D :D

 

 

 

He just recently made a music video and although the video itself is a little lame, the song is amazing. And it feels sooooo cool to know someone who made a music video :D

 

 

 

So here it is: hopefully spreading word of him. Btw he plays neoclassical. I'm not a huge fan of it but I really respect those neoclassical players; it takes insane dexterity to be able to play it and the songs are usually really complex. Imo they should be getting the most respect (musically) out of all the other genres.

 

The fact that the music is out of time at parts sort of lessens the feeling of the song. I don't just mean the video's correlation with the audio either, although that was out as well. I also definitely don't agree with your statement that musicians of the Neoclassical genre should be getting the most respect.

 

Regardless, he's very talented, and it's cool that you're able to have someone that good as your teacher.

He's talented, but that's nowhere near the style I like. I felt nothing. :|

I really doubt he's the fastest, or anywhere near the fastest. I've heard a lot of faster GrindGore guitarist and the guy from Necrophagist is faster, for sure.

After awhile through it, I got pretty bored of it, though he is pretty talented, I'll give him that.

Neoclassical is a mockery of classical technique.

 

 

 

If classical is so awesome, why is this so [bleep]ing dull and uninspiring then?

And it just feels so cool to know him. He's really down to earth and everything, even helping me get ready for an audition at this college-thing.
