[!] Tekken Signatures + Fractals

Featured Replies

I have just made two signatures based on one of my favourite game series of all time: Tekken. You may have seen these characters if you played these games. I chose my two favourite, and best characters and made two tags. C/C would be extremely helpful.

#1

This is of Kazuya, my all time favourite. He is really powerful, medium speed and delivers a punch. Constructive criticism of colours flow and anything else you find wrong, and how to improve would be great.

Jin. He is the Tekken Icon, and the newer games 3,4,5 revolve around him. I think this is the better signature, but I would like you to tell me. Once again, C/C would be great.

First try at fractals -

I did these on Apophysis, which I downloaded. I'm planning to make a fractal or 2 as my warm-up before I make a signature on Gimp, so I can get into the mood. There fairly quick to make, and aren't too hard.

1. Looks really bland as it's a lot of white in there and the smudging looks a bit too rough for this kind of render/background blending. Also do I see scanlines in there? Ruins the flow.

2. Feels like the C4d only is a foreground effect, I see that you made a part of it go behind his head but left out the lower right of his body. The smudging of his body to get out some colour looks a bit stainy and not like ordinary smudging, I would call it "smoke" but it's still quite messy.

Not really a fan of the signatures, I think you should try something new to be honest, the grungy style doesn't fit for foreground and it gives you a lot of white duo the layer settings your using, I can imagine that it get's too dark without using that specific layer setting right?

1F. Way too busy, it's eye candy but wouldn't work good as a fractal unless it's used only for a background effect combined with smudging (In my opinion).

2F. A lot better, not as busy and I think this one could go quite well if used in a signature, It flows in all directions which is good as you can just take a part of it to match the flow in your signature.

Messy C/c is the win I guess.

PS: Jin > All.

Jin sig is the best. It has great flow. Kazuya one is worse, you really blended him in too much. I would like to see his hair, which is original  .

Flame one is a better for fractal, the other one is way too messy.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

1st sig: Could be better. It lacks depth, effects and good lighting. I'm with Julius here about the style, it doesn't really work for me either in this signature.

2nd sig: A lot better, I think this is one of your bests. The black parts of the C4D in the upper right look strange though, I'd erase that part.

The fractals look pretty good, although low quality. I really like the first one actually, it's unique.

I'm no genius at photoshop, but I feel there's too much going around the render in signature #1.

I think breaking up the smoothness around the render would make the signature 'pop' out more.

Otherwise, great job (:

Some things are best left unexamined.
