Dire_Wolf
I have recently used Claws at Guthix at Iron Dragons, and despite the drops aren't always good i have gotten fast kills and great exp in magic. The kills are as fast as i do with mele: my mele stats are 99. Time is GP, and levels make you earn more cash. I used Claws of guthix for the fast magic levels and the accuracy of it, and also the speed of the kills. Even though i must say i haven't earned much back: I have gotten good magic EXP: which i am after. So i am asking: Is this right attitude, or should i maybe use Fire waves. Remember: Claws of guthix is accurate with charge spell, and it also hits 20-30, something that id like to think is worth the money i spend on the runes. Fire waves: Cheap but not as accurate, and hits rarely 21s. So did i make a mistake with CLaws of guthix, or do you think i did a good choice?' P.S I had metals as task. D Jay99
Claws are about 600gp/cast. Fire waves are about 400gp/cast. Not that much difference. If you're happy with paying 200gp/cast extra for faster kills, just do it. I don't think it gives a lot more xp though, as the base xp for claws is 35 and it's 42.5 for fire waves. The higher hits make up for that though.
pulli23
Well an easy solution: go testing it.. Kill dragons for around 5 hours using both methods.. Now after it calculate the nett money spent (that is the money spent for casts minus the money from drops).. let's say it's 200k/hour for claws (X) and 120k/hour for waves (Y) Also calculate the amount of xp/hour for both methods: 50k xp/hour, 4 gp/xp 40k xp/hour, 3 gp/xp Now to get 1M xp you would spent: claws: 1m/50k=20 hours +1M*4 = 4M waves: 1M/40k=25 hours +1M*3 = 3M So 5 hours extra for the xp, and 1M less to spent, if you make over -(3M-4M)/(25-20) = 200k/hour claws are better.. Or putting it in a general formula: Alright, tipit apparantly doesn't like transparant images: http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/3397/88720708gu1.png First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Dire_Wolf
Thanks for calculation Pulli, but i rather not calculate something like this out. Anyhow i got dragon leg, paid for 2K more casts and also i hit 20-30s very accurate (Compared to firewave). So i am gonna stick with COG
