making socks5 proxy for whole internet connection

I'm using iPhone Tunnel suite 2.6 so I can use my iPod Touch as a wifi adapter for the pc. It basically creates a socks proxy with a ip of 127.0.0.1 and port 1080, so I can use my iPod to get wifi signals. I configured firefox to connnect to the internet using these settings, but any chance of actually making the whole computer use it? There is no computer signal on the tasks bar that says I'm connected to the internet or anything, but I can browser on firefox. Also when I try to play Runescape I get Error_game_js5connect - Unable to connect to update server. :wall: Don't know whats the problem.

No idea why you'd use an iPod as a wifi adapter, since it doesn't work well from experience, mine anyway. You could try going into control panel>network connections, and see if your iPod shows up there. I'm not that great a techie, so someone else might also be able to help. Try using an unsigned applet to run runescape, the signed one might not work with your ipod.(to get to it, there should be an option somewhere on the site)

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Going to take a guess at this as i am no java expert but i think that error means it can't find a class object.

Doesn't your mom know that effectively stealing the wireless unit is potentially harmful to the computer you're on, and its' programs, as well as possibly having the chance of being destructive to your RuneScape account? You need to stop her from doing that while you're using the connection, before some real damage happens! That, or she's going to have to let you get an additional adapter!

Pardon me while I fall over in shock now. <*DVD falls over, hitting the floor with a loud "THUD"...*>

Well done. It refers to the embedded advertisement now shown on Freeplayers' login. If you've got adware/spyware programs, whitelist RuneScape.com before you get back onto RS.

I'm thinking that RuneScape doesn't like being played through proxies. In effect, what you've created actually is a proxy, and from my experiences, proxy = bad. I also don't know how to set your "internet" up globally so that all of Windows (?) can use it. It probably won't work the way you intend since those devices aren't really designed in mind for someone to use them as hacked modems (although doing such is just plain FUN and enjoyable).

You sound like you need to run a little intranet server to do what you want.

Runescape items! Its serious business!

taking out the wireless adapter will do practically 0 harm to absolutely anything, unless you happen to be downloading some kind of installation for an essential system file at the time, and running it straight from the temp folder, and by extension that would cause the installation to fail and your files to [bleep] up. The only thing it MIGHT damage is the adapter itself, but its not that likely.
