September 23, 200817 yr If you haven't done so, you can download Divx, which will embed it's codec in Windows Media Player to let you view .avi files correctly.
September 23, 200817 yr VLC is going to play just about anything, it's a helluva lot better than WMP (Though I still prefer kaffeine over both of them, VLC lags a lot for me in linux. It's amazing on windows though :P ) Last.fm Signature Overlays

Install the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) that you'll find on the pages at http://www.cccp-project.net/, and then you'll be able to play near anything you like in near your own choice of any media player. Oh, and make sure that you read the install instructions for first-time stuff and heed them, otherwise you'll regret the negative effects. :geek: ~D. V. September 23, 200817 yr CCCP isn't bad, but I'd go with VLC personally. Supports most any format right out of the box, works great with any OS (as I think CCCP is localized to Windows - bad if you're on Mac/*nix), and it's reliably fast, too. I havent downloaded a new build in ages, simply because CCCP was doing a damn good job. Are the new versions THAT much of an improvement?
September 24, 200817 yr I'd recommend VLC. It's been improved quite a bit since about a year ago. The interface is better (volume is no longer a progress bar :P), and several features now work much better than they did before. It doens't hog nearly as much memory as WMP does either. As for CCCP, I haven't used this, so I can't compare. "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
