The first Tormented NPC was released after Summer's End, in September if I remember right. It was the Tormented Wraith. In the first few weeks, the Wraith was EXTREMELY popular for it's awsome drop, it's chance of high valued drops and how easy it was to kill. It was reputed for it's Spirit Shield and the Holy Elixir. The price of those 2 items went up up up until the day it dropped bad. Spirit went from 400k to 40k and Elixir from 15m to 8m. Almost the same happened with the Tormented Demon. The Demon got really good drops in general, and it got his 2 rare drops too: The Dragon Claws and The Dragon pieces. You get one of the dragon pieces when you finish While Guthix Sleeps but the Demon also drop it. The same thing happened to the Dragon piece. The price went from 13-14m to 3m as I'm wrighting. The dragon claws didn't take the same path. It went from 150k to 1.3m as I'm writing on Ge and over 40m-50m street price! Both monsters got a good blue charm drop rate, it's the main charm dropped. They got other interesting items they drop like 80 noted oak planks from the Wraith and I'm sure something from the demon, just don't know it yet :D. Introduction Note: I Have searched arround the whole Internet looking for a guide to killing Tormented Wraith and I found a couple of them, but it wasn't a guide. It was just picture of the equipement and the inventory. Unless someone can give me a proof that someone else did a FULL guide on killing the wraith, I'm proud to annonce the first complete guide to killing it! To even have access to the location of the wraith you need to do Spirit of Summer and Summers End. Spirit of Summer is pretty easy but I found Summers End was kinda hard. Once you did those quests you should have a ring called Jennicas Ring that will make you able to go in the spirit world. You will have to go to the Dark Knight Fortress then go to the middle room and activate the ring. You will then be teleported to the spirit world with the Tormented Wraith. 2. Information about the Wraith The wraith itself is pretty easy to kill, but watch out: if you dont pray, it will hit hard because you only have Black armour. Level: 129 HitPoints: 150 Aggressive: Always Poisonous: No As you know, the Wraith can only be attacked with black weapons. But, Jagex made so that you can mage it, so if you want to barrage it or whatever, you can. If you want to melee it or use range, I recommend using black knifes or black scimitar. The wraith have many good drops so here is the drop list: Gold: 199-930 100%: Weapon: Black longsword Armour: Spirit shield, Black chainbody, Black platebody, Black med helm, Black full helm, Black platelegs, Black kiteshield Runes/Arrows: Chaos(15), Death(10), Blood(7), Mithril dart(p)(23) Misc: Adamantite bar(3), Iron ore(50-noted), Oak plank(80-noted), Prayer potion(3-dose)(2), Big bones(5-8), Herb(1-2), Holy elixir Seeds: Charms(1): Gold, Green, Crimson, Blue Thanks to Tip.it for the drop list. I would say spirit shield is 1/125, but for elixir I really have no idea. I got over 300 drops during my trip and got 4 spirit shields but no elixir. Here is an example of a trip I had: Everything outside the black line is from the drops exept the alch runes. The total worth of the inventory is about 1m, pretty nice eh? Note: That picture was in a middle of a trip. When I finished it, I made over 1.3m and got 40 blue charms. 3. Tactics for killing Using melee: Praying The best way to kill it is to pray flash as I use about .5 prayer point with 3 prayer bonus. Also if you look at the drops, you might have seen that the Wraith drops prayer potion! That means you can stay for life. When you are waiting for the Wraith to come back, I suggest to stand here: You should put on your prayer when the wraith is about here. If using range/magic, here are some safespots: Pretty basic, I think that it's the best one. To get it, you should stand where I show at the first pic, and put prayer at the second picture. Once you get hit, go 1 step east and it's trapped. Here is a diagram showing how he moves: The next one is this one: Stand where I am. Once the Wraith sees you, close the door. Tormented demons are demons that can do any kind of combat. Why would you want to hunt these? They drop "Ruined dragon pieces" and "Dragon claws" and quite a lot to. As Salad asked me to write a guide about them I decided to do it and show how I handle these demons with melee and range. NOTICE: This guide is written from my experience and I use a tortoise! If you use a terrrorbird or pack yak your Beast of Burden will look else but you need to fill that in yourself. I only use the tortoise! 2. Soloing Tormented Demons I will discuss 2 ways of soloing them. With the crystal bow and with ruby (e)/Diamond (e) bolts. I didn't try maging yet but I might try it in the future. Strategy to killing Tormented Demons I Would say their are 2 major spots to kill them! Both are near the entrance the 1 northern spot is better than the other Spot 1 Spot2 Use spot 1! at Spot 2 sometimes 2 demons will attack you or even 3 and that's seriously bad! IMPORTANT!: Mage Attack: Look's like he's going to headbutt you but instead a little fire wave will go after you. Range Attack: He will move 1 of his hands and than throw something [bleep]y at you. Melee Attack: He will swing with his hand towards you Pot if needed and than attack a demon with your range weapon and pray mage. The demons will use always mage as their first attack! When the demon is walking towards you walk behind a plinth or wall that way he will walk closer to you. You might practice this a view times but after a while it's easy for you. Keep a eye on his attack's and on what he is praying. Is he praying range? First attack him with darklight and keep a eye on which attack he's using! This is very important and quick switching is also very important else you will take a lot of damage. When you hit with darklight his shield will go away and you can do a lot of more damage to him. When it says "The demon Is Temporarily Weakened" you know your darklight hitted and his shield is away. If you done that attack, attack him with your halberd and spec away. Than if he prays melee use your crystal bow/crossbow till he prays range again than repeat and repeat. Just keep attacking till it says "The Demon Regains His Strength". At this point you should get your darklight out again when he's praying range and wait till you hit him. Watch his attacks and his prayer and just keep practicing and repeating this. Also if he doesn't attack and stands still doing nothing, put your prayer off cause he wants to melee but can't reach you! Still keep a eye on him. Always when he starts shaking, pray mage! after 3 seconds he will like shoot a fire ball at you which will hit you. With mage protect it will hit a 0. After a while you will take way less damage than you did your first time their. If your hp is below 60 or halfway I would say eat 1 shark or 3 brews and 1 dose restore. When you're waiting for his respawn stand behind a wall or plinth and when he spawns repeat as stated above. 6. Anyways, not bad, but quite basic actually, once you add in all the things it should be better. You could add a method I used with my friends consisting of a prayer tank (Every inventory spot besides black armour was ment to boost prayer, even weapon [ black mace]) and the rest with normal damage dealing equipment. And yeah, just add the safespots but I seriously cannot think of any thing that could be added on this guide that would help people who have gone there before other then tips, tricks and facts (Like not praying will rip you to shreads with constant 20s). Just because you don't beleive in wealth or don't own the other rings doesn't mean you shouldn't mention that switching rings is a possibility. 3 days O_O. oh wait, :shock: EDIT: Either you changed it or I overlooked the spirit shield. ah well. to save another useless post I'll add on to this. Now go out there and find methods of efficently maging and undiscovered safespots! (Theres a guide oin safespotting, very deep in the magical land of pre 50th page on TIF. . .). I might try to get my clan leader to mage it with my other friends, might be a fun little expirement. Until then, don't try working too hard on this, you put in almost as much information as there is on the wraith, so unless you find something new, only way to make it better is by making pretty but useless layouts and making clear information even clearer for the dum ones. *points at Saif*. I saw some people mage, they used the range black set-up but added mage boosting items (infinity boots, zamorak cape,fury,etc) And had pretty good hits, but alot of splash.
