Chaos Tunnels

Featured Replies

Well, my crafting level allows me to craft green vambraces. So I thought it would be nice to kill some drags, high alch the vambraces and sell the bones, or keep them to go to ectofungus.

But it turned into a nightmare. Revenants! And they are a real cabbage in the rearend.

So now I know there are green dragons in the chaos tunnels, but baby blacks give them company. There was a guide on killing green dragons there, but now I can't find it!

Anybody know wich guide I mean, or has some suggestions?

ooo, you remember me ealier.

For me the problem was pkers/macro in wild...

So i changed my plans to raise crafting into this (guide suffered from forum updates).

I took the time and patience to mine 40k+ gold ores, smelt into bars then craft into plain gold bracelets (max craft xp and still decent alch). I did it for the 7x's levels.

During that 'long' period i also used my kingdom to get the flax (57k) i required to prepare my 99 fletch and spinned it. I got my 80-85 here.

That way i jumped over the green and even red dragonhides to start directly with blues witch are safely rangeable.

Next i continued with battle-staves (after Varrock diary 3) and i'm now about to craft furies !

So : you can try to use GE and burn your cash to train craft fast... or you take Zapiel's long road but the result is good too.

Oh baby light the dark side...

This method powered me to 80 crafting from the mid-60's and made me millions, and yes I mean millions.

Firstly you need Lunars unlocked and the spell Super Glass Make. The joy of this spell is it gives you extra molton glass, approx 1.3x the raw materials. So each cast with 13 raw materials usually nets you 16-20 glass. So for 1k raw materials you get 1.3k glass.

I used to buy from the GE in 1k quantities of seaweed and sand. Factoring in all costs (runes as well) I was making a profit all the time, as well as 130 crafting XP per cast and a little bit of mage XP.

Sadly I had to stop shortly after the release of summoning as sand got too expensive to make it worthwhile (it's not as fast as other methods), however it won't take you long to work out if it is profitable now. I'd imagine it should be.

Trust the Gene Genie!

During my Slayer Tasks I kill the Baby Black Dragons, and I notice many people ranging from a safespot here. It's a very, very simple "trick"

sorry for the bad pic, but you get the idea, hide in the corner.

This way you will only be attacked when you leave the safespot. Note there is a green dragon south of the safespot, but if you shot at it, you would be attacked by the blaby blacks south of there. Only range this one.

...and yes I mean millions

Did i missed to mention that ? ooops !

Maybe i thought a runescape player is also good at search and calc...

Well, here it is : Gold bracelet alch to 330gp. I spoke about 40k gold ores into bracelet witch is 13.2m.

Now, i'll go a little off topic to tell a few more words on surch plans and what it changed to my way to play.

I remind runescape is a game.

Nowadays and especially since Pvp words has been announced bringing back many pkers with their odd maners, i can't find anyone who don't stress about making cash as fast as possible...

Even many skillers are stressed on how to do their skills asap.

That mindset on a pker used to stockpile loots is ok. As in combat situation they think very fast and on short term.

On a skiller who train craft... it is is allowed only to those who are rich enough to burn a couple of dizain million gp.

Runescape skilling is simple :

for extraction skills : the faster you got the less you get

for trasnformation skills : the faster you go the more it cost.

Zapiel's knew it when he built that guide. It is a huge concentration of skills synergy that exploit questing, mining, smithing, crafting, runecrafting and mage.

DIY-ing (DIY : Do It Yourself) is not the fastest way to play runescape by far. But, in that case, it allow you to jump over the dhides you can't decently hunt yourself... with extra skills worked.

Once you decide to do surch a task, you have to keep in mind the result of the process to stay motivated : cash garanted from it no matter how GE or luck goes...

Now DIYing doesn't require you to play 'the old way' and not to use actual possibilities : new quest rewards, items and even GE opportunities. This is the most interresting thing : staying enough informed to keep surch a plan possible in a decent time. So, you will do it, slowly, but with garanted result.

That mindset is far away of most expkers-newskillers-evenmorenewmerchands who's main idea is to stay as fast as possible... making their playtime like (or even more) their stressful IRL.

Since i made it (and even since i play), i kept most of the time that way to go : a bit slower but ever making money and using the best of the game for it.

And when i see i'm being bored, i can spend the money i made on fast skilling... until i'm broke again

Oh baby light the dark side...

Thnx all for the info.

Now I am a DIY player myself. That's why I go to green drags and kill them for their hides, instead of buying them. In the long run, I don't get only the crafting exp and the bill, but when I mine 40K gold, I will get mining exp, when smithing them with gauntlets, I will get smithing exp, wich will help me in the long run.

So yeah, I think I go mine a time.
