Pure essence and making money

Featured Replies

Whats the market price for pure essence right now? The grand exchange says its 149 to 165, but i know that can be inaccurate. Ive pretty much been mining it for the past few days to make money, and would this be considered a good way of making money? Is killing green drags still a good way to make money? Back in the day (i just started playing after a three year break) i was making BANK off killing green drags. But are dbones/hides still in demand enough to make a good profit off of that? I mean like what are the prices now. And are there any other really good money-making things to do? I have semi-decent combat skills so anything combat related (ie killing green drags) would not be a problem. Thanks a lot

I can usually sell pure ess at medium price. Green dragon killing is still very profitable but the dragons are often crowded.

Green dragonhide: 1,642gp

Dragon bones: 1,967gp (Today: -45gp)

Both of these are widely bought and in high demand for crafting and prayer.

I don't think the chaos tunnel ones are crowded =/

They are actually, I see a lot of people with 106 combat or more in there, praying.

As a rule of thumb - doing anything enough will make you rich ...

thanks guys, that all pretty much makes sense...

and just another random question, but is the whip still the most widely used best all around weapon? and is the GE price accurate? because im thinking about buying one, and a set of rune, to start back training up again soon. thanks

The whip is the best training weapon ingame, except for strength. Some people say sara swordfor that but i say berserker necklace and obby sword.

Anyway the green dragons arent crowded enough to make you sit there 1 hr for an inventory, but crowded just enough to ensure chances of you dying from a revenant are uber-low. Pure ess has always been good money, and the GE database is usually quite accurate on prices, especially drops. If something has dropped 2 days in a row, sell it asap. If something has risen 2 days in a row, keep ahold of it until it reaches a height.

Currently green dragons are one of the best money making ways in the game, and pure ess mining comes in quite close-ish

I dont need a siggy no moar.

whip price is accurate, and in my opinion is the best weapon in game, unless your solely training strength, then a d long/scimmy or a sara sword is the best option.

and rune is cheap.

As a rule of thumb, there are very few prices for which the Grand Exchange is inaccurate, and they're pretty much all very expensive luxury items with prices that move very slowly. Look at the price change graph of a party hat and compare it to the graph of a whip.
