Random logouts

You may have all heard this problem before, I know a few people who experience the same thing, but it just gets too annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It started not to long after the release of HD Rs.

It first started on my Dad's new computer (windows vista) and soon spread to my moms computer (windows vista).(My Dad and Mom live at different houses so its a different internet connection). I thought it was a problem with vista until my computer started doing it (windows xp):P. The only computer that is not affected is my dads Mac OS 10."something". Basically what happens is I will be playing RuneScape and without warning I randomly get logged out. No its not because I am inactive or have played the six hours or whatever it is where Jagex auto logs you. It can happen at anytime doing anything, sometimes every 10 seconds :S. On all 3 computers I am using the most recent version of Java as I have uninstalled and reinstalled it on each of the 3 computers. I have tried playing RuneScape on 3 different browsers, the latest version of.. Firefox, Internet Explorer(including the Rs Client), and Safari. Which I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well. If its a question of can my computers run Runescape? They all surpass the minimum requirements for Rs HD, as they all run it just fine. Now you might think it may be a virus? Well I am pretty sure it is not, as I have up to date anti-virus software and freeware, with which I have done virus scans numerous times. Oh this happens in HD or Regular detail with all, or no features in use. Is it just lag? No, I am using a cable connection at both houses, with a router to connect it to multiple computers. I have reset the internet connection, and router many times, reconfiguring it each time. I have also tried restarting my computer, many times. What works sometimes is unplugging the router, internet connection, and restarting my computer, then putting it all back together. Then they stop for a little while.. Another thing I found that helped sometimes is changing the detail, HD - Low detail (any settings) Or Low detail - HD (any settings). Other then that I am lost on what to do, if you need any other information I will be happy to provide what I can. And again any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks <3:

EDIT: Could maybe the firewall have anything to do with it? I wouldn't think it would because I can still run RuneScape. But perhaps allowing the RuneScape ports might help? Or would that do anything for me at all?

Yeah I hate Vista ><. I thought it was a problem with Vista until it started happening on my windows xp. To answer your question, no it doesn't disconnect me from normal browsing, I can have the internet open and running fine, infact it doesn't disconnect me from the internet at all, I just randomly log out. My internet is still running while this is happening, and I can instantly log back in after I get logged out (most of the time, sometimes I get "No response from server please try using a different world"). So it only happens with RuneScape.

Hmm, are you always trying the same world or different ones? I doubt it's something to do with the server but you never know.

Do you have any other programs running in the background that might affect your connection? Things like MSN, IRC, Steam, Updater programs etc. They shouldn't have an effect, but it might be worth looking in to.

Ahh yes I forgot to mention that in my post. I do try different worlds, I've tried the "suggested world" for me, other worlds from my country, including nearby countries, I get all the same results. As for other programs, I usually only have Itunes running (which in no way should affect it) and "sometimes" Skype (not very often) or MSN. However, even when I am not using these programs I get the same random log outs. So I don't believe these to affect them in anyway either. (I also have a problem with MSN on one of my computers with Vista (Surprise) where it randomly freezes, but that should have nothing to do with it.

MedievalKid, here is my opening question for you... Who are the ISPs that power each of your net connections? :-s

(Call me crazy, but it sounds too much like they're all gamer-unfriendly.)

I use a different ISP at each location, Telus at the house with the Vista and Mac, Shaw Cable at the house with the Vista and Xp.

However, I had no trouble playing RuneScape with the current ISPs as they are now before HD was introduced. Now I get the logouts on all detail modes.

Something else I found out:

When its running normally, it will do so for a long period of time, until such a time as when it logs me out for whatever reason, inactivity, a connection loss. Then it starts its "random log outs" every few minutes, seconds, or whatever. The problem is still unresolved, any additional help will be greatly appreciated.
