try using a compressed air duster on your cooling fan.. hair (from animals etc) and dust tends to get wrapped around the motor

I doubt it's NOD32 causing the problem because it barely uses any resources and it runs in the background.. unlike Norton -
Comcast has powerboost so my big downloads start at 4mbps down, then stabilize at 1mbps

Go to http://download.com and search for a music converter, or use a media player on your pc (i.e. itunes or wmp)

Split your hard drive into 2 partitions, install an OS on each, boot up and choose the OS you want # of processors is irrelevant, although it'll obviously be faster with dual processors
