XxTearGodxX Posted October 12, 2008 Share Posted October 12, 2008 Alright, I'm here to post a rant and or my disagreements with the Clan Chat and the people who moderate it. I've decided to go ahead and post it in the Rants forum because I did not see any other topics elsewhere about it. If I happen to be wrong and a mod decides to close this topic, please point me in the right direction and either PM me a link to an official topic to where the Tip.it Clan Chat can be discussed or the appropriate forum as to where it can be discussed before you close my topic, thank you. I know I am not the best of people to chat with when it comes to chatting with me whether it be on Forums via PM or on RuneScape via PM or in the Tip.it Clan Chat. I know for a fact I'm not innocent while in the Clan Chat nor am I claiming to be (last night I talked about Politics when I wasn't supposed to.) Though what pisses me off is that there are Clan Chat Moderators in the Chat a good amount of the time and that is a good thing, it really is as long as they do their job. From what I see being in the Clan Chat for some of the past few days, when some mods either don't like what you are talking about or maybe they are PMSing I don't know they tell you to shut up. I simply asked one question as to how long farming a magic tree should take and complained maybe once about the time mines were taking to grow and the Chat Mod told me to shut up and get over it or something along those lines. What kind of example is that to set for people in the chat? Especially coming from someone with a "higher power". The next thing that pisses me off is Chat Mods who threaten to kick people and don't follow through with doing it. There are at times (lots of times) when people are misbehaving in the Chat and need to be disciplined. Example, someone spams a drawing of something stupid like a party hat or an ice cream cone the mod tells him stop or I'll kick. The same person will then do it again maybe not as soon but I'd say 10-15 minutes later at most and the Mod does nothing about it. So what is the use of being a Moderator when you aren't going to do you're job and kick people when they are acting up? There are times when I needed to be kicked and I haven't been kicked. So please, whoever runs the chat do something about it set aside some rules or get new Chat Mods who will actually do something rather than nothing. I'm sure people will disagree with me and that's fine, and I'm sure people will tell me if you don't like it don't come in and that's fine too. Expect when they are feeling funny and make a little joke to cheer up the spirit. :mrgreen: Shame you have had bad experiences in the chat. Also, There really is no official chat. XxTearGodxX Posted October 13, 2008 Author Share Posted October 13, 2008 Everyone knows what chat people use for tip.it as the "main" chat even though it is unofficial, so please don't come in this thread and play dumb. If you really don't know then I apologize. It is Forsakenmage's chat, and a prime example of how nothing hardly get's done in there just happened but about 5 minutes ago. Someone came into the chat claiming it was his first time in there, and he had spammed a drawing of a crown he asked to be kicked and someone kicked him. That's fine I have no problem with that, he should have been kicked in the first place for spamming anyway. Some other person then draws (spams) another picture and does not get kicked, and there are 7 Chat Mods present. The only thing that happens is that someone tells that person is "drawing" (spamming) is not appropriate when the chat is full. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A tipit mod is the owner, how more official can you get? Forsakenmage was kind enough to offer up her chat when Lightning ceased. Just because it is a moderators chat does not make it official. The official Tip.It chat is on our irc server #runescape. Tip.It cannot take responsibility for what goes on in those clan chats, nor can we punish someone for their behavior in game. If you have a problem with the chat itself bring it to Forsakenmage's attention and not on these forums. Regardless of how people think it is "official" it isn't and the staff here take no responsibility whatsoever for what happens. This topic is now locked.
