SHIELZZZ69
Okay this is kinda sad, I'm a lvl 100 with 40 smithing i need to get to 50 smithing so i can superheat mith ore to get my mage up. I'm asking whats the CHEAPEST way to get to 50 smithing, i have heaps of time on my hands so i'm asking the cheapest and the cheapest will most possibly be the slowest so give your ideas. I don't want to mine the ore i just want to buy the bars then make the items then sell to Grand Exchange or General Store but something that sells on Grand Exchange would be better. Thanks and post away  99 Strength Achieved 26/9/08. L0L in 3 years I've made 7m. In the past 2 days I've made 7.2m on top of that thanks to Bounty Hunter. So why play for 3 years when you can do that?
dutchphoenix
Are you F2P or P2P? Because if you're P2P you can make iron knifes. Decent xp and some money too \ For F2P I recomend steel bars.
RayOxide
Well. Steel bars are obviously the best. I think you should make steel bars and then cannonballs. Its quite good money I think. I know I got 30-63 by smelting Imagine that. I dont need a siggy no moar.
SHIELZZZ69
Is there anything in the way that i can just say buy iron bars then make iron battle axes or something? I can spare up to 100k aswel. 99 Strength Achieved 26/9/08. L0L in 3 years I've made 7m. In the past 2 days I've made 7.2m on top of that thanks to Bounty Hunter. RayOxide
Well if you can only spare up to 100k I think you should just try to get a profit :wall: I dont need a siggy no moar.
Skilling0wn
Cannonballs. Just make Cballs for profit. You wont come far with 100k and Iron Baxes.
vettro
Buy iron ore smelt with ring of forging. You'll actually make decent profit.
QuickCutter
I agree with Vettro, I have basically gotten 91 smithing purely from iron... Best way to go in terms of money
Bro_Azrael
And do not, I repeat, do NOT try to train smithing with cannonballs. It's terribly slow xp and terribly slow money. Better make Iron Knives and spend the time saved for earning money. In a quick way.
Navyvet1
Iron Throwing Knives are your best friend! Ore can be purchased on the GE (I've gotten 4k Iron Ore for as low as 89 coins each ore). The key is having Rings of Forging, so you are always successful at smelting. Each Iron bar gets you 5 knives...and I've sold them for as much as 40 coins each throwing knife (almost a doubling of my initial investment). This is BY FAR, the cheapest (albeit slow) method to raise your Smithing. Most would get bored quickly with this method as it is SLOW...but you are guaranteed to make a profit! Note: I don't consider the Rings of Forging in my profit equation.
