Anti-climax to the game, but India still won. Australia lost out in the first 20 overs where they were only on about 40 runs, whereas India had already reached 100 by that stage. Good batting by the Indians though, bring on the next ODI! I'm surprised they played S Marsh as an Opener instead of Warner, Marsh is one of the most inconsistent players I've seen in the Aus one day side. At least we know Warner can smash 40 off 20 balls before getting out.

Australia look set to lose todays game as well..Sri Lankan bowling attack took Aus from 85/1 to 88/4 and they struggled from there on out. Our bowling team isn't full strength, Johnson, Thastings, Siddle and Doherty. I'll be surprised if they win. I want to see Tait and Lee back soon :(

Lol yeah, I wonder if Doherty's 4 wickets were a fluke though..I want to see him go again and see what he dishes up. Johnson, Siddle and Thastings towards the end bowled the most ordinary balls I've seen in international cricket...Even Watson pulled up better towards the end. Gotta give it to Malinga though, I'm willing to put a bet on that he'll never manage another match saving 50 like that :D And Angelo is usually a pretty ordinary batsman as well, I love it when lower order players do something like that

Doherty is terrible, I don't know how he got 4. Angelo Mathews is really good, maybe haven't seen much Sri Lanka in the past year, especially in T20's. Not sure about Malinga, I remember him smacking like 27 against us once...

I kinda wonder why Australia don't just play a full strength team, all these losses are sad to watch..Lee, Ferguson, Harris are ready to come back and start playing, so is Hauritz. Tait's out until January with an injury though :(. I guess I should just be happy I don't support New Zealand :shades:

You just wait...We'll come back. Last time we lost 7 games in a row was in 1996, from the World Cup Final against Sri Lanka through the next 6 matches. We then owned everyone for the next 14 years

 

Also, England are playing Western Australia in a warm up test match..England are 117/7 chasing 280, lolol. Australias chances are starting to look better

 

And world cup qualifications for the lower teams start today,

I didn't even know some of these countries existed, let alone played cricket

But yes, this game has just got very interesting. Great ton by Williamson, and Chris Martin absolutely on fire, we have a great shot at winning this game. We need to bowl India out by lunch and hope they don't add more than another 100 runs. Then we have a great shot at chasing down 200 in two sessions.

Greg Chappel wants to have Hauritz and Smith in the team for the first Ashest test.. :rolleyes: I swear if that happens we're going to get flogged. The Gabba has always been a place for seamer's, Harris, Johnson, Bollinger and Hilfenhaus would be the best bowling attack they could take in to the first test. North, Kattich and Clarke can bowl spin which would do about as much as Hauritz could at the Gabba.

I keep saying it, Steve Smith is not a good bowler. Hauritz isn't great either, but Clarke's back is [bleep]ed and he can't bowl, and Katich never seems to bowl anymore.

Hauritz had a pretty good summer in Aus last year, and averaged 15 with the ball, which is pretty awesome, he's had some really bad games as well though, we need him to pull through in places like the SCG.

 

He's playing in a domestic test match atm, Victori v New South Wales in Sydney.

 

The players who the selectors will be looking at for the first test:
