Wahsac
Hi I am going for high fishing xp, currently 16mil plus. Bit confused with Barbarian fishing or maybe it is not for me. I really cannot see how people say they get 50k to 60k plus an hour xp, most I have managed is about 42k in an hour and I really could not keep that up for long. This is using the cut the fish for roe method and then using it for bait, not dropping the fish. Shilo fly fishing I can get 36k to 40k an hour :) Monks I can get 35.5k an hour plus the cash on selling :) Doing monks at the moment because they are selling at 444gp a fish and the xp is good :) Think I will go between monks and Shilo to stop the boredom. In Barbarian fishing I just don't get the xp people say they can get :?
Skilling0wn
Hi. Im doing the exact same thing as you. Im currently 19,6M fishing experience. IMO you should just go with sharks. ;) :-#
Bad911
Well, its quick because the experience rate is exponential. The higher level you are, the faster you'll be able to fish the fish, and also you'll unlock the higher ones. To review the method: (just a check) 1. Fish your fishies 2. Cut fish (Tip: Put the knife on the bottom 2 spaces from the end so you can reach all three kinds of fish. See example at the end.) 3. Use cutoffs until you have no more inventory space. 4. Drop cutoffs, now you should have an extra spot. 5. Refish using the roe/caviar for bait. 6. Should have 1 space left the entire time after you dropped your cutoffs, then repeat. [hide=Example]XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XOXX You can reach 7 fish, then just cut from the bottom, since its like making potions and it'll start from the top to the bottom.[/hide]

In Barbarian fishing I just don't get the xp people say they can get :? Did you say "cut the fish for roe" method? Because that would explain what you're doing wrong. You should be getting caviar too, not just roe. If all you're getting is roe, then it means you don't have the required levels to catch leaping sturgeon, and that's why your experience is suffering. Double check that you have 45 agility, 45 strength, and 70 fishing. Other than that, Bad911's six steps are correct. If you still honestly can't get it right, then you still shouldn't fly fish, because monkfish are much more efficient. Don't listen to anyone who tells you to catch sharks. They're horribly inefficient and not worth catching. Monkfish and heavy rod fishing are the only two methods you should be considering. Switching between the two of them is fine too.
