D Jay99
I've decided I should have a go at training my range through slayer once I have enough cash to buy a cannon + cannonballs and time to get void. I just know I'm not camping at aviansies until I have 99 farming, so this is the other option. I'd like to know some general tactics to use and some advice on specific slayer monsters. Gargoyles, nechryaels, dust devils, fire giants; would I be able to range these with a bunyip in the chaos tunnels (void or tank armour?) or are there better locations with safespots? Iron dragons; should I try to range these or just stick to melee for a bit more speed? Waterfiends; is there a good way to range these or is melee'ing the only option? Thanks in advance :)
Fatteh
Fire giants can be safe spotted in the waterfall dungeon, Dust devils can be safespotted (Don't know how, never done it) and Nechryaels can be safe spotted in the tower, north(i think?) side of the room. Not sure about Gargoyles though. Good luck with slayer btw  . Thanks to InsanityV2 for the sig
ikkevincent
garg's are easy to safespot in the chaos tunnels.
Aslan
Fire Giants can be safespotted both in Brimhaven Arena and Waterfall Dungeon. You can safespot Dust Devils in Smokey Well, the places are a bit harder to describe.Void isn't used for a lot of task simply because most people prefer the bonuses on Black Mask.I use Void when i can easily safespot the monsters, without the worries of losing the Void. Meleeing Iron Dragons takes more resources than simply ranging.I've always used range while having an Iron Dragon task, simply because I have low melees. D Jay99
Does anyone know how well bunyip and d'hide + torag's helm or void + spirit shield (which is best? I will use super def pots) would work on the monsters I listed? That would be way easier than safespotting them, and if I could do the task with that and like 10 monks I'd do that. Fatteh
It'd be easier to range Fire giants at the waterfall dungeon rather than close combat. You might be able to get away with tanking dusties, don't think so for the others though. Thanks to InsanityV2 for the sig
ilovecardj
Dusty chaos tunnels are safeable. the left and right half of the room splits very narrow, and its a safe spot. (fire from either side to the other) Nechs are safeable from that table thing in slayer tower gargs TBH i wouldnt bother ranging cause of the hammer. I also have some questions as well. when i max melee ill start range slaying as well. What is better? Void and unicorn with either zammy book/dfs. or full arma with zammybook/dfs? which tasks can i get away with void while tanking? Dark beasts will be meleed for obvious reasons.. Foooman
DJ, a bunyip won't really keep you up if you don't want to safe spot, what I did is just brough guthans and used that along with the bunyip until 88 summon. Even at 88 summon and ranging, somethings just hit way too hard. If you have spare cash you could also pick up an SGS and use the special for healing. Of those are Dark Beasts (melee them, don't even bother ranging their mage attack tears you apart if you let them do it over and over; i even tried armadyl here for extra mage defense, but it failed), Fire Giants (if you only have one on you, you'll be fine; otherwise it's very painful), Nechryael (these just hit hard for some reason), and gargoyles (just safe spot them, they are huge and easy to safe spot, why you wouldn't is beyond me). You can range Waterfiends using the safespot rock on the other side of the river at the very end, but it's just too slow for me to bear and I found it easier to finish the task in an hour using a z spear and piety. As for the Iron Dragons I'd just melee them because of the Dragon Slayer FOG gloves + Slayer Helmet just makes it sooo much faster than range or mage. Void was superior to dhide for every single task, except for mithril dragons. I personally wouldn't buy armadyl unless you are using it for GWD or for castle wars or something. It costs way too much for the mediocre mage defense and range boosts it provides. I also tried to eagle eye some tasks, but due to your complete lack of prayer bonus and how slow ranging is compared to melee you can't keep it up an entire task with 20 prayer potions. D Jay99
Okay, thanks foooman (and others) :o  I have a general idea of what to do now, when the time comes I'll buy a cannon and start slaughtering faily monsters :D
