Hello everyone. I am new and this is my first post. I hope I am putting this in the right spot lol.

I been doing a bit of construction. And I found something that may be usefull. I hope I'm clear lol, well here goes.

A normal oak plank gives 60 exp on average.

Example 1 - oak chair (2 planks) 120 exp for making it.

Example 2 - oak table (3 planks) 180 exp for making it.

Now the CW armor sets give a bit more.

Castle Wars (red and blue) - 135 (135 xp / 2 planks = 67.5 exp per plank)

Castle Wars (white and blue) - 150 (150 xp / 2 planks = 75 exp per plank)

Castle Wars (gold and yellow) - 165 (165 xp / 2 planks = 82.5 exp per plank)

And the Smithing armors give even more exp.

Mithril - 135 (135 xp / 2 planks = 67.5 exp per plank) this gives 25 exp in Smithing per one made. Allthough it doesnt seem like a lot, the exp adds up and it is like geting free smithing xp as you lvl construction.

Adamant - 150 (150 xp / 2 planks = 75 exp per plank) My Smithing isn't this high (88) to make this so I don't know if the exp is more than 25 (I hope it is).

Runite - 165 (165 xp / 2 planks = 82.5 exp per plank) My Smithing isn't this high (99) to make this so I don't know if the exp is more than 25 (I hope it is).

I think someone who does the updates on the skill guids should add that you can lvl and gain more xp for less planks.

For plankers (people who run to the Sawmill to make planks) - you can use a ring of duling and the ballons to make planksing almost 3 times as faster than running to and from varroc (even with tellying back to varroc).

Thank-you,

P.S.

If you decide this information is good for the Construction guide under tips/tricks I don't want, or need, any credit for it.

Welcome to the forums.

1) Pleasy try to type in a normal color, this is very annoying to read. (at least to me)

2) Your tips are nice, although I think they are known for quite some time. Check the "feedback" forums. There you can comment on the guides in tip.it, make suggestions or improvements.

Good luck!

Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

i think it's against a forum rules to have an entire post in a different colour..beside it makes it harder to read....and i think this should be in general guides....but ye, it's rewarding you having a good smithing lvl....

I like to think of the Dark Bow like a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) - you get one shot and then you're screwed.

Both tips are well-known, at least I knew about them. I tried the armour method for a while, but quite frankly, the building/tearing down is murder for your wrist. Extremely slow and painful. I wouldn't recommend it for getting high construction. Then again, I'm only at 72, so I shouldn't say much about it ::'.
