Newbie and his questions

Hi folks ;),

I haven't play RS for a long, long time. When I logged in today, the whole game was changed in my opinion. It seems beautyfull now, for a game running on Java engine. Thumps up for Jagex

But to the point.. I have some questions about what is right and what is evil #-o

1. What is the easiest way to make money. My mining is 59, and I was thinking about making steel bars. Is that an good idea? Furthermore my woodcutting is 60 but I haven't noticed many Yew trees in the F2P world.

2. Back to mining, I noticed that I need one more level for earing entrance the mining guild (where I also find a lot of coal). What is the best way of leveling. Mining iron or mining coal.

Bye then.

P.S. my ingame name is dementionn. Feel free to add me if you wish to help me.

Im assuming your f2p

1) Steel bars are still very profitable as member buy to make cannonballs

1a) There are two yew trees south of edgevill bank and some around varrock castle

2) Mine iron ore in the dwarf mine till 60 as you will only mine coal in the mining guild. But you can drink a dwarf stout to enter the guild as is gives a +2(?) boost to mining

When mining those iron, mine and drop. And also there's 4 yews to the west of Lumbridge Castle(which now has a bank).

Mine Iron south of the Varrock West Bank until level 60. Then at 60 enter guild and mine coal to make your steel bars.

:shame: No he should bank then cuz steel bars are one iron ore and two coal ore, So what would be the point of him droping them if he is going to need them to make steel bars for some gp's ?

Gold ore mining in the crafting guild is your best bet probably, 50k+ or 100k+, not sure, / h.

Mining iron then dropping would be fastest, coal if your aiming for money. (keep it and buy iron, smelt steel bars like you said).

The bets profit would be power mining iron until he's in the guild, then mining coal. The time saved will eventually be worth it from the coal. Besides, it's only one level. That's at most 739 iron, which is worth only 74 k, and it would be a better use of time on the coal.

Except mining and banking iron is almost as profitable as mining coal.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the tips. I guess the best option is to buy a dwarven stout and mine coal in the mining guild.

I also need full rune + (shield) and weapon. What is the best mix? Kiteshield and scimitar? Twohanded sword?

Kiteshield and scimitar. About the mining guild, I bought dwarven stouts and mined coal in the guild, banked it then used a stout again.

One more thing..

In the options box, there seemed to be a new button, 'house options'. What can you do with it? Own your own house? Or is this button meant for p2p only?

scimitar+square (they're cheaper :P )

You really haven't played in a while. Years ago they added the construction skill (and whole lot more since). It is members only.

What is the way to sell stuff. I usually sell goods at Varrock market but there aren't many players there? I have 500 steelbars and what should i eventually ask. Price list @ tip.it says about 290K. Is that good?

I figured it out already. Grand Exchange is a real good system. No more scammers anymore and nobody pays to much.

For now, i want to train my crafting and smithing which are respectivily 50 and 49. What is the best way to level these skills up while I also earn a lot of money?

Smithing pretty simple. Mine coal and iron into steel bars like you were going to. To take it one step further, smith the bars into steel platebodies. They sell or high alch for a decent profit.
