DarkX99
I've never killed Mith Dragons before. I recently received 5 of them (yay 5 :D ) as a slayer task. I don't want to skip or cancel, so I decided to do it, despite my inexperience. So, how should I go about doing it? Range or melee? Inventories? Method? My stats are in my sig if needed. ilovecardj
With those stats id just melee with piety Slayer helm fury Firecape/trimmed cape Barrows gloves D boots Karils Top/bottom DFS/antifire shield Leaf bladed sword (Best weapon here. better then dlong and whip) whatever ring you want Bring a bunyip, half a super set, half an anitfire pot, like 5-10 ppots (i prefer flashing piety)pray melee and let them have it. Bring some pineapple pizzas and a game necklace to get there. 5 takes about 10 minutes tops so its a nice quick task Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning
DarkX99
Ok thanks. One question though: Is the Leaf Bladed Sword really more effective than the Whip? I just find it hard to believe. 99 WC - 12/20/08! =D99 Defence - 6/19/09! 44,012 to reach it! Aiming for 2000 Total Lvl!
ilovecardj
yes it is because even with piety and 99 attack. the whip will hit 0s about 9/10 times. the sword hits probly half or 1/3 the time at the least with stab. a dlong would be better then a whip, but the leaf sword has higher accuracy and is faster (then dlong). So you end up dealing more damage with it I reccomend you bring a whip with you just to compare. Its mind boggling Dragon Drops: 80+ boots, 7 med, 3 skirt, 2 left half, 2 Spear, 2 2hSlayer: 30+ whips, 4 Bows, 1 Mask, 3 Granite Legs, 1 Visage (Wyverns)Notable GWD Splits: Bandos Tassets: 12, Bandos Chest: 11, Bandos Hilt: 2Proud Slayer of 99 Att/Str/Def/HP/Range/Summoning

sykoknight
I personally range them. They are MUCH easier then I expected. Go buy some enchanted ruby bolts and your set, thats all I use.....well, combines with Karils' (the mage defence of Karils helps a LOT) Protect prayer against range and the mage defence from Karil's will keep you there for 4-5 drags easy. My mage is 90 and my range is 89 and I almost always get 5 drags a trip with karils and ruby bolts. My top trip is 9, but that was a freak accident where I happened to very rarely get hit once. Cbow proved to be far better than whip. Can more players confirm leaf bladed sword? Never saw it and never heard it before....

You use ruby bolts for the whole kill? Once they get below half health the ruby specs become pretty useless, so diamond bolts would be more effective at that point. And why range them from a distance? Better to fight them in melee range with Protect from Melee, since it's easier to pick up ammo and drops. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
ilovecardj
I kill a mith dragon in about 1 minute on average with flashing piety and leaf sword. Surely its faster then a cbow. The times ive seen rangers there, they are usually half done kills or so each time i finish one (On task of course) But they may have low range levels I dont know :P But whip is complete trash at miths. CampbellMC
I normally range them, but when I ranged them I was in max gear (armadyl, ranger boots, archer ring, ruby and diamond bolts) and it took about 1-1.5 minutes per kill. I know that if you have max melees vs 99 range, range is more efficient, but I am not sure about the difference at lower levels.
DarkX99
I successfully killed the Miths using ilovecardj's setup, using a Whip instead of the Sword. I used up about 2 Prayer Pots (4), while using Superhuman Str and Pro Melee. The Whip did well for me, as I was able to get a lot of big hits in. I will try a Leaf-Bladed Sword next task. : This topic can be locked now. 99 WC - 12/20/08! =D99 Defence - 6/19/09! 44,012 to reach it! Aiming for 2000 Total Lvl! Feezy24
I ranged Miths at like 78 ranged or so, I killed over 20(not in 1 run of course :P ) and I was lucky and I got Chewed Bones once, but not so many good drops..
