Which phone to get?

I need a decent camera, and slide/flip is preferred. I live near the gold coast, QLD if that helps at all. Basic internet would be nice but I don't need 3G, chances are I will only use it on rare occasions. The main things I need is the camera, flip/slide, looks, good buttons and good software.

I'm looking at the Samsung i560 navigator, and the LG KU990 Viewty.

Any opinions for which, or perhaps another suggestion for a prepaid between $200-$300 in Australia?

I'm waiting for a cheap smart phone to come here in Canada. We had a spectrum auction recently, and some new guys are entering. If you're aware of how low the competition is, one pay-as-you-go play for data is .05$/KB.

So yeah, I'm waiting for something running android, or a iphone without a horrible contract. (Ours is the 2nd worst IN THE WORLD!)

I think I'll use it for everything, as people I know have said they do.

I suggest you get a smartphone. :)

A few of my friends use the LG Scoop, and haven't had any problems. Decent pictures and video, and the keyboard is pretty well spaced and good.

If you plan to do a lot of texting, I wouldn't jump at the iPhone quite yet. My teammate has one, and trying to look up a simple youtube video was quite a process, involving many backspaces. Without a stylus or something similar (which get lost easily), typing on it is annoying on a high level.

I've never actually tried it, but the BlackBerry Storm sounds promising. It's from Verizon, and it has a touch screen like the iPhone, and it's 3G. Verizon has a great network, nobody I know has ever had a problem with them as far as phones or coverage issues (ie dropped calls). Plus, I've used a few BlackBerry phones before, and they have quite a few nice features, including an outstanding keyboard. So if that carries over to this model, the Storm would get my vote for a phone for you. I'm not sure when the release date is for it, but I know Vodafone is carrying it..

You were a couple years ago.
It's not racist if its true.
Hmm... I wonder how one goes about throwing someone out a window in a mystic fashion :-k

The mental image for that is freaking awesome.
