November 15, 200817 yr Center Focal is boring, look slapped together, brushes really stick out (in a bad way), color choice is poor. Check out Alyn's DeviantART page for various resources (tutorials or, at the least, guidelines) and just some plain inspiration from an incredible artist.
November 15, 200817 yr It looks unnatural, you don't get that kind of stuff occuring in space. Realism, in terms of physics and reality, is vital. Of course massive planetary collisions and destroyed solar systems don't happen too often, although they are incredibly cool. That's what space art is all about, stuff on an unbelievably huge scale. It illustrates things that we'll likely never get to see actually occur in our lifetime, probably humanity's lifetime. The shapes and brushes you used don't happen in nature, they aren't natural shapes. Focus on planets and nebulae, that's a good start.

November 19, 200817 yr Everything is blurred, there should be stuff in the background which isn't. There needs to be an actual cause of this explosion, at the moment it's just random. Try adding in some planets to give the picture some focus.

November 19, 200817 yr Much more freaking cool. I love it tbh entirely honest. It does still lack something I think, maybe consider what pyromancer said.
November 19, 200817 yr OK fair point about the Genesis thing I forgot about that. :P Try adding some debris, bits of rock and stuff. Look at the ring of debris around the impact on my signature. I'm not saying copy it but look at how each piece has a highlight and a shadow trail, that leads away from the light.
