It all depends on how much cash you are willing to spend... :?

ice bursting monkey zombies would be fastest for your level

switch to ice barrage once u hit 94 mage

you can get about 150k-250k exp per hour doing this  while losing mils :wall:

Wouldn't he be better off(in the long run) bursting rock lobsters? That way he gets loads of crimson charms for training summoning and good exp. Note that I am only 61 magic, and have absolutely no personal experience. I am only repeating what guides and wiser players have told me. Check the AOW for more info.

haha ! I changed my thoughts on magic in the period you are in now.

I simply read Zapiels' guide on gold and it became bright.

For me Magic is a secondary skill that raise because of other activities, let me explain :

I wanted to balance my mining/smithing due to some old f2p activities (mining coal and selling bars ftl). So i mined gold ores then smithed it until i balanced.

It brought in my bank a nice pile of 40k gold bars... i crafted in jewels for a nice buch of craft levels.

Then i Rced/bought the nats depending on my current cash... and highalched the jewels. Here came the magic experience of the process.

I made some money along some strong skilling. But the best is that i discovered long term sight and xp curve implication (xp you need for next level raise faster and faster...).

Of course I didn't do it to get 96... but that illustrated how i am now a magic 96-er.

You can choose (or mix) the 2 solutions :

- fast and very expensive xp using combat magic spells

- long term sight (but bringing money) with high alchemy alongs your skilling

One last word : explore GE and compare alch prices. There should remain some items you could train for near to free buying the nats... and making small incomes if runecrafting.

Oh baby light the dark side...

Isnt plank make good? I know its faster than alching but idk how much it costs...

Making mahogany planks is great. Equip a mud staff, buy alot of astrals and mahogany logs, and remember to have some cash left.

Astral rune = 154 gp

Mahogany logs = 194 gp

Money for making = 1050 gp

Mahogany plank = 1581 gp

(1050 + 154 + 194) = 1398 gp

1581 - 1398 = 183 gp MADE EACH PLANK.

And btw, yes I'm quite sure mahogany planks sell. Not instantly, but they do.

Edit: Obviously, this is after 90. 80-90 I'd do a mix of alching, metal dragons and MTA.

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

just cause i knew exactly when to hit the next hi alch while i was alching when the new emote came out it completely murdered alching effectively imo so when i decided to go for 99 i did humidify on fish trawler (it didnt say nething in the news thing the other day about humidify although they did take out some other things u could do so that might b dead too) then i superheated gold ores lost a [cabbage] load of cash but was quick and got a nice bit of smith xp too (69-75 ftw?) so thats a definite + unfortunately i heard bout plank make AFTER i got 99 so that might b a better option ::'

It just "murdered' how it looked, there was no other change in high level alchemy..

First off, DON'T ALCH! It's terrible for xp and for your wallet.

Best method is MTA enchantment. After 68, it is both cheaper and better xp than Alching, and it reaches to 83k+ per hour after 87 (onyx enchant). As I said before, it is cheaper also (unless you make the things you are alching yourself).

Alternatively, I've found Fire Wave at 100+ PC about 70-80k per hour, maybe higher.

I've used string jewellery from 92 to 97 mage, and will be using it for 99. I personally highly recommend it. I average 134k xp per hour, at a loss of around 3.5-4 gp per xp (if you've completed the Rogue trader miniquest after Summer's End; otherwise, you'll lose around 6 gp/xp).

To use this spell, buy however many unstrung amulets you need on the GE, and twice as many astral runes. Equip a mud staff and fill your inventory with astral runes and unstrung ammies, click on the spell icon, and the spell will cast itself 27 times in a row. Yup, 2,268 xp per click! I find this much more tolerable than alching, and worth the extra expense, in my opinion. I camp in the Lumby basement and periodically stock up on butter from the chest.

After you've strung the jewelry, note it and use it on the Rogue trader (unlocked after Summer's End) to recoup a good portion of your costs.

You forgot to include the cost of the nature rune, which turns this into a money loser. :shame:

2 astrals + 1 nature + 1 mahogany log + 1050 gp.
