The Observer
Well, I don't see any threads around here, but if there is, a mod can lock, thanks. Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) was released a little while ago, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss it. How do you like it? How is it different from the previous version (Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron))? What do you like about it? Tell me all about it! :)
sloter
They tried to make the network manager better and failed i na way. You have to manually set static IP's and get rid of the Gnome Network Manager not a big deal to me but it would bother a lot of people.
dsavi
Some differences, no big ones I've noticed so far if you don't count the Gimp 2.6.1. I haven't really and truly tried it though, jut Ustudio 8.10 on a virtual machine that I use as a weird kind of server.

I run a dual boot w/ Vista and that issue does affect me. I like the name though. 8-) Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
Makoto_the_Phoenix
I've been using 8.10 since the first of the month, and I've only had one real discrepancy with it. My wireless is Atheros, and the new ath5k drivers for it suck, in a word. I did like the fact that they worked out of the box, but those drivers still need work. Once I got rid of them, reinstalled the (more reliable) ath_pci driver, I haven't had any problems with it. As for NM 0.7: I really like the fact that I can maintain both ethernet and wireless connections simultaneously.
