What do you say when someone private messages you and asks who you are??

I usually dont answer. Also, my private chat is almost always on Private because I am a high level, and people PM me for free stuff.

Hmm, I don't ever get these. I assume, tho, it's people who forget why someone is on their list. I have plenty of people on my friends list that I can't remember :) Someone once suggested you could add a short description to each entry on your friends list, i.e. "sold me 200 laws," or, "gave me free anti." I'm all for that. It would make RS friendlier.

I dunno, Crim, but I really haven't. I assume many people do get these PMs, but I don't.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would tell them:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A) Sorry, I don't remember you.

 

 

 

B) Um, why did you add me as a friend?

 

 

 

C) (if they are scamming or being insulting) Get lost.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Follow up to C) is Add Ignore.

Reasons the person pm'ed me:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A. Just because they see my whip/dragon armor and assume I'll give them free stuff.

 

 

 

B. Had me on their list from a previous trade and couldn't remember me.

 

 

 

C. A friend that I know, but they can't remember me because at the moment they are on a mind-altering drug.

 

 

 

D. Some random person, not begging, but just randomly pming me for fun.

A. I reply "Only aftr u giv meh free st00f pl0x!" followed by a "Just get lost, neanderthal."

 

 

 

B. If I remember trading them, I remind them why, if not, I assume we traded and say "Well, we probably traded before, but could you please take me off your list. Thank you. :)"

 

 

 

C. "Oh my god, man...you didn't listen to me did you???"

 

 

 

D. *Adds another useless idiot to my ever-growing ignore list*

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In conclusion: Unless you've done something to earn my respect, or we have been talking for quite a while and I grow fond of you, I'll add and keep you as a friend. But I don't add friends just because I traded with someone. If I did that, too many idiots would be pming me right now. Sorry...but I'd rather NOT get a million pms whilst at The Barrows.
