November 24, 200817 yr A friend has issues with getting Runescape loaded, so i hoped someone could help out on here. I am posting for him, but here's what he said and posted on a other forum that belongs to our Team. Wizard (My friend) Well since 23 November I haven't been able to play rs when I click on "Members Click here to play" this comes up: Anyone have any idea what's wrong and what I need to do to fix it? This & DVD's will probably solve what the problem is, but even then a system restore, & reinstalling java tells me something about the network being picky, which would mean either a software problem selecting Runescape in particular, and letting other java games go by. Tell your friend to go play some games at funorb and see if they work. Also what country does your friend live in anyways? Might be a problem there too.

Devnull I don't know what you mean by "hosts file" and neither do i know what it is. As for HJT log i do not know that either. He tried funorb, but then all internett windows were shut down and F2P don't work either. He is from England. He also tried different browser so that's not the case. He even turned off Firewall, but that's not a problem either.

Just to be sure, the cache is the log on websites, saved passwords and so on? As for rebooting, you mean after he installs Java back on that he restarts computer? I think he has. Please if your gonna tell me to tell him to do something, please redirect us as to how to do it :pray:
November 24, 200817 yr SirHemen, as for clearing their Java Cache, they will find that by pulling up the "Java" Control Panel, and then in that to "General > Temporary Internet Files > Settings..." and there will be a "Delete Files..." option in the following dialog to clear the Java Cache with... :-s Also, I had already noticed they did a simple uninstall/reinstall and simple antivirus/antispyware scans... But did they run any antivirus/antispyware scans specifically during the time that Java was not installed? Again, there are viruses that can hide underneath Java, but are exposed and killable while Java is not installed... So, if clearing the cache as described above does not work, then do the following... [*:1bykk08w]Uninstall Java... [*:1bykk08w]Reboot... [*:1bykk08w]Run AntiVirus/AntiSpyware Scans... (If there is anything that's been hiding under Java, this step should catch it.) [*:1bykk08w]Reboot again... (Best to clear RAM after that previous step... Don't be haphazard.) [*:1bykk08w]Reinstall Java... [*:1bykk08w]Reboot one last time... (Java won't work otherwise... BTW, Java might have you do this step anyway, don't forget to do it if it prompts you.) November 24, 200817 yr I have heard of some problems between the latest AVG and Rs. It may be it as well if D.V. is wrong. That would be something to try as well, getting a good antivirus like Avira or Avast! instead of the crap that AVG is nowadays.
November 26, 200817 yr Author Issue solved by friend uinstalling Mozilla, from there he deleted Mozilla folder and then reinstalled and it worked.

That usually doesn't happen unless some major extension install goes way awol, or something else gets in and clobbers something.
