I'm not overclocked at all currently. It happens currently when I play Left4Dead, although I'm going to test it in other games as well (Warhammer Online was working earlier today, and Left4Dead was working yesterday?). It only seems to happen once I'm really in game and a lot is going on. It freezes and then gives me the BSOD error.

I've scanned my machine already and haven't came up with any viruses.

Apparently, from looking it up, the problem seems to be anywhere from driver problems to fault RAM or VRAM.

If it matters any I've noticed that my windows boot up (when it first shows the windows logo) seems to take a bit longer. Game performance seems normal, however... As does the actual windows UI.

I'm planning on running a CHKDSK tonight (as it takes forever!) and I need to find a way to run a memtest, as I just can not figure out what I need to do to make a USB drive bootable. (and I don't have a floppy drive nor any CD-RW's on me currently.). I'm going to try and reinstall the graphic drivers in safe mode as well (just in case) although I'm not sure if it will help.

Any ideas or thoughts as to where I should go from here? It's frustrating. :)

Run memtest?

UPDATE: Just uninstalled the 9600GT (Through device manager), then reinstalled the latest drives (180.48) in safe mode. Played Left4Dead now for about 30 minutes without any issues (no stuttering or BSOD, usually it happened within 5 minutes).

Still am going to do that CHKDSK and I'd like to hear everyones thoughts on if I should bother with a memtest or not. :)

Run memtest?

Can't get a USB to be bootable, any help?

Can't get a USB to be bootable, any help?

it will be in your bios options. if you have a old motherboard you mightn't be able to use a usb, so you will have to use a floppy or something, but most motherboards i believe to support usb booting.

have a look around for it in the bios. make sure if its enabled or whatever you put it above the hard drive in the boot order otherwise it wont work anyway.

ive never used a usb device to boot before but thats what i imagine you would need to do.

Check what paging size windows has set it too.

Sometimes windows won't auto adjust right, leaving you with a very small or big paging size.

As for the issue I would guess at the ram being the issue.

No, I know that. You need to turn the USB into a bootable drive too.
