Indizle
I dont know how Jagex could implement this, but I think it would be a good idea to show the shop price of an item during a trade as a little number next to the item on the trade screen, or they could include a "CHECK PRICE" option when the item is right clicked. This way, fewer people can be ripped off by people sellin cheap items for large amounts, and also prevents people from losing too much money in a trade. Of course, this could be left out for items like trimmed/god armors and holiday drops. Maybe instead of a price the word "SPECIAL ITEM" could be shown instead, so that those items can retain their value.

Escape5
Umm not, because street value of items is A LOT more then store prices
okiebrian
That would destroy the buy low, sell high aspect of merchanting (aka, destroy merchanting), because people would never accept a trade if they weren't getting a good deal.

No it won't, because nobody is going to spend 5 months at the general store buying 1k coal just so they can buy it cheaper.

What the.... If the current price displays during trades merchanters like me won't be able to buy low then sell high. For example a santa hat, let's say the current price is set @ 2.5million, there is no way that a merchant would be able to get for lower or sell a bit higher UNLESS! somebody is just tired of having a santa hat post of a good deal, which is more then likely not going to happen. Bad idea, period. archimage_a
player to player prices are always in flux. after a while the price decrease as no one sells them, then bang they start bidding and it rises then some one dies and loses one to a noob and there is a huge power struggle. So basicly it would mean some one watching all the trades looking for the price changes, or a computer doing it(this would screw it up if ppl traded things like a cabbage for 2 cabbages) so lets face it it would be inconvinate and unnessery cos no one keeps in side the price rules anyway http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
lpinkus
I appreciate your idea, and although it's not nice to rip off younger players, selling high is part of the merchanting business. I learned fast to check prices here and at RuneHq. So, no :) lpinkus
