Gigajie
finally finished it. i was working on my 99 range goal so i couldnt really work on it...here it is. the rope was hard to make, since it had the shadow of each of the candles, so they dont look that good. Sam
Really good job! Nice shading, though I would make the gradient a bit more 'smooth' if you know what I mean? 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Bloodredsword
I'm glad you took my advice, it looks great so far. Work a little more on making the shading gradient a bit smoother, and mabye add some more realistic grain. Looks great though dude :) Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Gigajie
i wanted to add grain, but the pixels r too big. the grain would look really big.
Sam
what do you mean by 'grain'? 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Skull
what do you mean by 'grain'? Like the texture of the wood. Oh, and it looks good. The background colour is a little distracting, but other than that there's no obvious problems. Gigajie
yea, sry about the background. it ruined the fire of the candles. i wanted it to look lively though...not some kind of sad blue. yes i mean the wood grain. the little lines in the wood. venomai
Great work. It came out really well. Nice attention to detail. A few crits... hope you don't mind paint-overs. - You need some shadows on the edge to make it look like the chandelier wraps around full-circle. Right now it looks like it just "stops" at the edge. The candles can do with some slight shading, as well. Here's a quick example, using some basic dithering. For more info on creating smooth shadows: http://kitted.deviantart.com/art/Pixel- ... l-47269811 http://kitted.deviantart.com/art/DITHER ... s-69747353 - It's a little too uniform right now. Adding wood grain and some wear and tear will help. Here's a very rough example: Simply displacing a few pixels in the wood and metal is an easy way to make it look more "textured." - The perspective is a little off. The bottom/back part of the chandelier almost looks bigger than the top/front part. To create the sense of depth, the back part should be slightly smaller, and (depending on angle) maybe even occluded by the front part. Check out photos of rings to get a sense of the perspective: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2368/251 ... 1b.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2098/251 ... 57.jpg?v=0 http://www.judaicadepot.com/images/Ring9344lg.jpg http://s7ondemand4.scene7.com/is/image/ ... 3?$detail$

jabraulter
Not too bad. Venomai posted some great suggestions; he's a great resource. By the way, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you about your pixel signature request. This is the first time I've logged in for like a year and a half. What can I say, curiosity got the best of me : Cheers, Jon
Gigajie
ty for tips. will use that soon. my new idea is a guy in GWD ranging aviansies. the guy will be pretty big, well close to the viewer. taking up most of the sig. he will be ranging an aviansie and ill put the GWD background in. i already took some pics for reference. havent started yet though. wait to my signature request. well...i wouldnt have expected for anyone to make me a pixel... Unoalexi
Forgive me but... there's way to many colors in the background for you to have shaded it yourself... ...you didn't use a gradient, did you?? -.- Here be dragons ^ Dragon of the Day
Sam
He added the gradient in GIMP, calm down  2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Unoalexi
He added the gradient in GIMP, calm down  Sigh. *goes on a rant about how gradients aren't usually included in pixel sigs* I think it would look better with a black background... with the flames glowing in the dark.
